Gant was recalled by the Braves on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
With Arodyz Vizcaino (shoulder) landing on the DL on Tuesday, the Braves opted to bring Gant back up to provide a healthy arm that can work out off the bullpen or in the rotation. He'll likely work primarily as a reliever during his current stint with the Braves, however. Gant owns a 4.59 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP over 33.1 innings with the Braves this season.

Gant (oblique) was activated from the disabled list Sunday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gant struggled to find his groove while on a rehab assignment at Triple-A Gwinnett. Over three games, Gant allowed 10 runs across just 9.1 innings. His performance in the majors hasn't been very impressive either, as his ERA and WHIP are currently 4.45 and 1.38, respectively. With Gant coming off the DL, Tyrell Jenkins was optioned to Gwinnett.

Gant (oblique) threw five innings, allowing six runs on nine hits and two walks, while striking out one in his third appearance for Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Since moving to Triple-A for rehab, Gant has given up 10 runs and seven walks with just four strikeouts over 9.1 innings. If the rookie can figure things out, he still could find himself a spot in the big league rotation, considering his 1-2 record with a 3.38 ERA in four starts for Atlanta this year.

Gant (oblique) allowed three runs ( two earned) over four innings, throwing 70 pitches in a rehab start Wednesday, and is expected to toss seven innings in his next rehab outing, Kevin McAlpin of Sports Radio 680 The Fan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Given the lack of options the Braves have in their starting rotation, Gant may be building up his pitch count for another run in the majors. The 24-year-old's last major league appearance came June 27 when he lasted just two innings prior to leaving with the oblique issue.

Gant (oblique) will make another rehab start Wednesday after leaving his last outing prematurely due to illness, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Given the current state of the Atlanta rotation, it's easy to envision a scenario in which Gant gets another look as a starter at the big league level once he's healthy enough to return in the coming weeks.

Gant (oblique) left Saturday's rehab start with an illness, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
The club had planned on Gant throwing five innings or 75 pitches in his second rehab start. However, his outing was cut short at 29 pitches when he became sick. Fortunately, because his early departure was not due to issues with his oblique, a return at the latter end of August still seems possible.

Cant (oblique) will make a rehab start for Low-A Rome on Tuesday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gant has been sidelined the last month dealing with a strained left oblique but threw a side session on July 22 with no setbacks and is now set to begin a rehab assignment. It's reported the Braves want the 23-year-old to make at least three minor league starts before being called up so a mid to late August return date seems likely. The right-hander will reassume a 4.45 ERA and 1.38 WHIP through 30.1 innings when he makes his return to the majors.

Gant (oblique) threw a side session Friday without any setbacks, and could begin a rehab assignment in the near future, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gant was placed on the 15-day disabled list on June 28, so this is a welcomed sign of progress. He posted a relatively solid 3.38 ERA in his four starts prior to being sidelined. Expect an update on his status when the team announces a more formal time frame for his return.

Gant (oblique) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Gant exited Monday's outing after straining his left oblique, which is a tricky injury for a pitcher. The Braves acted quickly, placing him on the 15-day DL on Tuesday and recalling righty Casey Kelly from Triple-A Gwinnett. There is no timetable for Gant's return at this time, but his placement on the DL on Tuesday guarantees that he'll be out through the All-Star break.

EDGE Analysis
Gant was removed just two innings into his start Monday, but further information on the extent of the injury should be available post-evaluation.
