Joey Votto is hitting .265/.378/.368 with no home runs over 18 games since returning from the disabled list. Reds manager Bryan Price admitted before Votto returned that his left leg probably wouldn't be 100 percent for the rest of the season, and the first baseman was clearly be favoring the leg on a couple of swings Sunday. It's pretty obvious that he's not healthy, but Votto doesn't want to admit it. "As long as I'm playing, I'm 100 percent," said Votto. "That's going to be the interaction between you guys and me. If I choose to go on the DL, I'm on the DL. If I choose to play, I'm 100 percent. ... You should expect the very best from me if I'm out there."

Joey Votto went 2-for-5 with an RBI single and a two-run double in Tuesday's win over the Pirates. Votto, often slagged for his lack of RBI, was a run producer for sure on Tuesday and the Reds needed every one of them. The trio of RBI, though, only pushes his total up to 19 in 204 plate appearances. Nevertheless, he's still slashing an impressive .274/.412/.451 with six homers.

Joey Votto finished 1-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts Tuesday in his first game back from the disabled list. Votto struck out in his first two at-bats but walked in the bottom of the sixth inning and singled off Dodgers reliever Brian Wilson in the bottom of the eighth. He missed 25 days with a distal left quadriceps strain.

Reds activated 1B Joey Votto from the 15-day disabled list. He'll bat third in his return to action Tuesday night against the Dodgers. Votto has been sidelined since May 16 with a distal left quadriceps strain, but he reported no issues during a brief two-game minor league rehab assignment. Be sure to get him back in your fantasy leagues.

Joey Votto (quad) will begin a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Sunday. Votto has been sidelined since May 16 with the strained quadriceps, but has made nice progress in recent days. He's expected to need just a brief minor league rehab assignment before rejoining the Reds at some point next week.

Joey Votto (quad) will go through another full workout Friday before being re-evaluated. Votto is coming along well and is expected to be ready for a short rehab assignment soon. It's not clear how many rehab games he might need, but a return sometime next week would seem to be feasible.

Joey Votto (quad) took batting practice and fielded grounders at first base on Thursday. It sounds like Votto, who has been out since May 16 with a quad strain, may be nearing a minor league rehab assignment. "He looked strong," Reds manager Bryan Price said Thursday after watching Votto's workout. "Now, it's just matter of strength and getting out there and playing a little, making sure everything is where it needs to be before we activate him."

Joey Votto's (quad) scheduled workout on Tuesday was rained out. Votto had been slated to take batting practice on the field for the first time since landing on the disabled list. He was also expected to run the bases and take ground balls. It's not a big deal, but it will delay his rehab assignment, which is expected to begin soon, a bit. Votto is expected to need at least two rehab games.

Joey Votto (quad) will go through a full workout with the team on Tuesday. Votto says that his quad feels good, but the Reds haven't decided on the next step. It's possible they'll send him out on a brief minor league rehab assignment before bringing him back from the disabled list.

Joey Votto (quad) could take live batting practice in the next few days. Votto has already been fielding some grounders. While he's not going to return on Saturday when first eligible, it's looking like the Reds' first baseman isn't too far away. It's not clear whether he'll go out on a short rehab assignment before being activated.
