Votto went 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBI overall in a 12-9 victory over the Brewers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Votto's two-run homer in the ninth inning brought Cincy back from a 9-8 deficit and resulted in closer Francisco Rodriguez's first blown save of 2015. Despite playing half his games in hitter-friendly Great American Ballpark, Votto's .326 average on the road is 37 points higher than his home number. The veteran first baseman has clearly been a bright spot during a dismal Reds season, and his .385 average (50-for-130) after the All-Star break is one of the best marks in the majors during that span.

Votto went 3-for-5 with a double, a homer, two runs scored and three RBI in Tuesday's win over the Nationals. He matched his hit total from his first five games of July (19 at-bats), with all three base knocks coming against Nats ace Max Scherzer. The homer was Votto's 15th of the season but his first since June 13. Votto had failed to collect even one extra-base hit in his last 19 games entering Tuesday.

Votto was 0-for-4 with one strikeout in Cincinnati's loss to the Mets on Friday night. The game broke a string of 32 consecutive games reaching base - the longest streak in the majors going into the game. Votto is still hitting a very productive .291 despite teams still frequently pitching around him, so another streak could begin at any time.

Votto is out of the lineup Wednesday, MLB.com's Jason Beck reports. Votto almost never gets a day off, but that appears to be what this is. His slash line of .295/.396/.547 is pristine, as is usually the case for Votto. Chris Dominguez will get the start at first base and hit sixth Wednesday.

Votto hit three home runs in Tuesday's blowout win over Philadelphia and picked up four runs scored and four RBI in the process. Votto now has hit three home runs in a game thrice, tying a Reds record owned by Johnny Bench. Votto is now up to 16 home runs, and his .560 slugging percentage has jumped 99 points in the past 11 games. For the first time in a couple years, Votto is looking like the power-hitting perennial MVP candidate who made four All-Star games from 2010-2013.

Votto went 2-for-3 Saturday with a walk, two runs scored, two RBI and his ninth home run of the season. After nearly going the entire month of May without a home run, Votto has now homered in back-to-back games. His .282/.378/.494 slash line has taken a tumble since his blistering start, but he may be heating back up again.

Votto went 2-for-4 with a double Saturday. He's cooled right down after his hot April, and Votto is now hitting just .257 (18-for-70) in May with no home runs and four RBI. His production on the season is still very good though, particularly in OBP leagues, and as long as he stays healthy, Votto could heat up again at any time.

Votto (suspension) is out of Sunday's lineup against the White Sox, the Cincinnati Enquirer's John Fay reports. Votto was slated to miss Friday's game, but that was rained out, so he'll miss the first game of Saturday's doubleheader instead. Kristopher Negron will get the start instead, batting ninth.

Votto will serve a one-game suspension Friday against the White Sox, MLB.com's Jamie Ramsey reports. Rather than appealing the suspension, Votto will just get it over with. He made contact with umpire Chris Conroy while arguing a call during Wednesday's game in Pittsburgh.
