He matched his hit total from his first five games of July (19 at-bats), with all three base knocks coming against Nats ace Max Scherzer. The homer was Votto's 15th of the season but his first since June 13. Votto had failed to collect even one extra-base hit in his last 19 games entering Tuesday.
