EDGE Analysis
Votto will miss his second consecutive game with an illness while Ivan De Jesus gets the start at first base in his place. After struggling through the first two months of the season, Votto has finally started to look like his normal self. Manager Bryan Price announced that Votto was left out of Tuesday's lineup due to an illness, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adam Duvall will be seeing action at first base for just the third time this season Tuesday with Votto sitting out. Price referred to Votto's ailment as a "bug," so there is hope that the Canadian native won't be sidelined for long. If Votto is able to return to the lineup Wednesday, Duvall would likely move back to the outfield. Votto could also potentially serve as the DH on Wednesday in an effort to conserve his energy coming off an illness.

Votto is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game with the Rangers, Zach Buchanan of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Votto will cede the start at first base to Adam Duvall. In his absence Duvall will bat fifth. Duvall usually starts in left field, but today the Reds will go with an outfield combination of Jose Peraza, Billy Hamilton, and Jay Bruce instead while Votto gets some rest. Votto is on a five-game hitting streak, going 8-of-22 in that timespan.

Votto went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer, two runs scored and a walk in Saturday's 6-3 victory over the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran first baseman continued his recent resurgence, one that has seen him lift his average 20 points since May 22. Part of that improvement has been in the power department, as Votto now has four homers over his last nine games. He's also currently riding a six-game hitting streak, and is already slashing .357/.500/.714 over his first 14 at-bats in June.

Votto went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI, a run and a strikeout against Milwaukee on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
It has been a disappointing season for Votto thus far, but the two hits increased his average to .212. The first baseman has hit safely in five of the last six games, so it seems he might be leaving his struggles behind even if the stats don't show that yet.

Votto went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Saturday's 9-5 loss to the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old enjoyed a rare bright spot in an otherwise miserable season, blasting his fifth homer of May, to go along with a solid 14 RBI. Votto also has hit safely in three straight, but his May has turned out to be even more dismal than his April. The former All-Star is hitting .182 during the current month, with his long-ball prowess serving as about the only redeeming quality of his offense.
