Votto (neck) is back in the lineup hitting second Thursday against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
He missed Wednesday's game with a neck issue, but it was apparently quite minor and he should be good to go for the final four games of the season.

Votto is sitting out Wednesday's game against the Cubs to deal with a "stinger" in his neck or upper back, Fox Sports Ohio's Jim Day reported in the Reds broadcast.
EDGE Analysis
Votto has a significant on-base streak going, which could make it interesting if he is available for pinch-hit duty.

Votto isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Votto has been a consistent presence in the Reds' lineup this season, appearing in 154 games and starting 152 at first base. He'll get a rare day off Wednesday, however, with Adam Duvall moving in from left field to replace him at first base, batting sixth.

Votto went 3-for-5 in a 10-2 loss to the Mets on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
As a forgettable season winds down for Cincinnati, the All-Star first baseman is hitting the ball the best he has all year. Votto now has nine multi-hit efforts in September and has reached base safely in every game of the month as well. Even more impressively however, the last time Votto failed to get on via either base hit or walk dates all the way back to Aug. 10 against the Padres, an amazing streak of 43 contests. When the veteran isn't pounding out base hits or homers, he's drawing an incredible number of base on balls, with the 139 he's amassed this season serving as a career high and contributing greatly to the .464 OBP figure he entered Saturday's game with.

Votto went 2-for-3 with a solo homer in Wednesday's 10-2 loss to the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
The home run was Votto's 29th of the season and seventh against left-handed pitching. Votto has reached base at least once in every start since Aug. 10, leading to an incredible .461 OBP. The first baseman's remarkable season would undoubtedly garner more attention if it didn't come for the 63-88 Reds.

Votto is not in the lineup Friday against the Brewers, C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Votto will receive a rare day off, as he hasn't been held out of the lineup in over a month. Adam Duvall will draw the start at first base in his place, batting seventh.

Votto was suspended two games after being ejected from Wednesday's contest, but will appeal the suspension.
EDGE Analysis
Votto had to be restrained after a heated exchange with the home plate umpire following Wednesday's ejection for arguing strikes and balls, and received a two-game penalty as a result. The appeal will allow him to continue playing for the time being, as he'll draw the start Friday.

Votto went 2-for-4 with a walk, run scored, and RBI in Thursday's 11-0 win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Votto's elite season continues, as the first baseman now boasts an incredible .460 OBP. With nearly identical splits against left and right handed pitching, Votto has provided opposing pitchers with little breathing room all season. Although no announcement has been made yet, fantasy owners should be wary of an impending suspension; Votto needed to be restrained by coaches during his ejection Wednesday night.

Votto had a relatively quiet batting line Wednesday against Pittsburgh, going 1-for-3 with a run scored, but he made headlines by becoming enraged in an argument with an umpire and was ejected from the game.
EDGE Analysis
Votto had to be restrained by teammates and another umpire after a disagreement over balls and strikes got him thrown out of the game. It seems possible that this outburst will result in a suspension for the star first baseman, but there's been no word yet. He certainly had a case in his argument. Botto's had a spectacular season wasted on another poor Reds team, as he's sitting on the second-best OPS in the major leagues, behind only Bryce Harper.

Votto went 2-for-3 with a double, a homer, a walk and two RBI Tuesday against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Votto gave the Reds a first-inning lead with his 26th homer, and later extended the lead in the sixth inning with an RBI double in a game the team eventually lost. He's now reached base multiple times in each of his last five contests.
