Mike Puma of the New York Post hears that the earliest that Joel Hanrahan (elbow) will pitch in the majors is likely mid-June. Hanrahan impressed during a throwing session for roughly 20 teams last week, topping out at 93 mph with his fastball. Still, he'll need some time before he's game-ready. The Mets remain interested and could be a good fit for save chances as he attempts to rebuild his value.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that Joel Hanrahan (elbow) has not yet begun negotiating with any teams. He's expected to begin fielding offers sometime next week. Some clubs, Rosenthal notes, have requested Hanrahan's medicals. The veteran reliever reportedly looked good during a showcase on Thursday in front of nearly 20 clubs, topping out at 93 mph. Hanrahan should pick a team before the end of the month but will need more time before he's big league-ready.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that "close to 20 teams" were present at Joel Hanrahan's (elbow) showcase at the University of Tampa on Thursday. Heyman lists the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, Royals, Rockies and Indians among the interested clubs and says there could be "quite a bit of competition" for the free agent reliever. Hanrahan was reportedly sitting in the 87-93 mph range, which is quite a bit lower than what he was throwing pre-Tommy John surgery, but Heyman added that the righty "looked fit and healthy." He figures to sign with someone soon.

Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports that the Mets attended a throwing session for Joel Hanrahan (elbow) on Thursday. CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reported last week that the Yankees, Royals, Athletics, Red Sox, and Dodgers were among the other teams expected to be in attendance. Hanrahan is working his way back from Tommy John and flexor tendon surgeries and should be ready to contribute in the majors soon. The Mets might make sense for him, as he could get some save chances with Bobby Parnell (Tommy John surgery) out for the year and Jose Valverde appearing quite vulnerable.

Hanrahan, who is 11 months removed from Tommy John and flexor tendon surgeries, had a throwing session for clubs last month and was reportedly clocked in the 90-92 mph range. He should catch on with someone soon.

ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports that Joel Hanrahan (elbow) will hold a showcase for potentially interested teams next week. Hanrahan, who is 11 months removed from Tommy John and flexor tendon surgeries, had a throwing session for clubs last month and was reportedly clocked in the 90-92 mph range. He had hoped to sign with someone by now, but perhaps it will happen after this latest showcase. The Mets are one team known to be monitoring him, but many clubs figure to take in the workout.

According to Marc Carig of New York Newsday, the Mets are expected to watch free agent reliever Joel Hanrahan when he throws for teams in a few weeks. Hanrahan, who is currently working his way back from Tommy John surgery, should be ready to contribute at some point during the first half. The Mets are focusing on internal options with Bobby Parnell (elbow) done for the year, but Hanrahan is a logical alternative for the late innings. He could get some save chances if he signs with New York.

Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish reports that free agent Joel Hanrahan could be an option to help fortify the back end of the Mets bullpen. The Mets were dealt a big blow on Sunday when it was confirmed Bobby Parnell would need to undergo Tommy John surgery. The veteran right-hander, who himself is working his way back from Tommy John, is expected to sign with a team fairly soon, with the Mets as "definitely a possibility" according to sources.

The Yankees, Mets, and Red Sox are known to have been monitoring Hanrahan.
