Jesse Crain (oblique) tossed a scoreless inning Sunday in his second rehab appearance at Triple-A Charlotte. If he wakes up feeling fine on Monday, Crain should be immediately cleared to return to the White Sox bullpen. The 30-year-old setup man has been on the disabled list since late-April with a right oblique strain.

Jesse Crain (oblique) could be activated from the disabled list following a second rehab appearance with Triple-A Charlotte Sunday. Crain tossed a scoreless inning while striking out one Friday. As long as he gets through the game without a setback, he should be added to the roster prior to Monday's series opener against the Tigers.

Jesse Crain (oblique) is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment on Friday or Saturday. Crain first has to make it through a Wednesday bullpen session. But he's already thrown a couple of those and shouldn't have an issue. The 30-year-old setup is on track to return to the Chicago 'pen by late next week.

Jesse Crain (oblique) threw off a mound Saturday. "There's a fine line between fighting through it and knowing if it's getting worse or whatever," Crain said after the workout. "I think it's definitely on the upswing. It's getting better." The 30-year-old setup man should be back in the White Sox 'pen within the next 10 days.

Updating a previous item, Jesse Crain (oblique) threw about 10 or 12 pitches on flat ground on Thursday. Crain was originally scheduled to throw a side session off the mound, but he's playing things safe for now. The current plan calls for him to toss again Friday before trying to throw from atop a mound on Saturday. There's no clear timetable for his return at this time.

Jesse Crain (oblique) is close to going out on a minor league rehab assignment. Crain was placed on the disabled list last month with a right oblique strain, but he is finally ready to start throwing bullpen sessions. He'll likely only need a couple appearances in the minors before returning from the disabled list. The 30-year-old right-hander has a 2.57 ERA and 10/1 K/BB ratio in seven innings of work this year.

White Sox placed RHP Jesse Crain on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 21, with a right oblique strain. The White Sox were hoping Crain would be able to return within a couple of days, but they apparently didn't want to go short-handed in their bullpen any longer. The 30-year-old right-hander has a 2.57 ERA and 10/1 K/BB ratio over seven innings this season.

Jesse Crain (oblique) threw 20 pitches in a bullpen session Thursday. Crain hasn't pitched since last Friday due to a right oblique injury. It sounds like he'll avoid a stint on the disabled list, but he's at least a few days away from returning.

Jesse Crain is unavailable for Wednesday's game against the Athletics due to an oblique injury. Crain missed nine days during spring training with a similar injury, but he's certain that this particular ailment is not as severe. "We're just letting it relax a little bit and hopefully I'll be ready in the next day or two if all goes well," Crain told reporters on Wednesday morning.

Jesse Crain threw a perfect inning Thursday in his first appearance since March 12. Crain has been sidelined by a strained right oblique, but he said Thursday was the best he's thrown all spring. Unless he has a setback, he'll be fine for the start of the season. Crain is likely to help set up for Matt Thornton, who seems to be the favorite to close.
