Jesse Crain (shoulder) said Monday that he hopes to pitch by the end of next week. Crain has been sidelined since June 29 with a right shoulder strain and was still feeling some soreness as of a few days ago. Still, he's optimistic that he'll return to game action soon. That's encouraging news for the White Sox, who figures to get plenty of calls leading up to the trade deadline.

Jesse Crain (shoulder) said Friday that he's still dealing with soreness. Crain has been sidelined since June 29 with a right shoulder strain, but he hasn't been able to shake the discomfort yet. While he has thrown four straight days, it doesn't sound like he's close to game action. The injury is putting a damper on his trade value.

Jesse Crain (shoulder) threw from 40 feet on Tuesday. It was his first time playing catch and Crain told reporters after the workout that it went "as expected." The setup man has been on the disabled list since July 3 with a right shoulder strain and there's no timetable for his return to the White Sox active roster. This injury really damaged his trade value and could completely kill it if the rehab is not a swift one.

White Sox placed RHP Jesse Crain on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder injury. Crain experienced tightness in his right shoulder while warming up on Tuesday. The White Sox will want to get the 31-year-old right-hander as healthy as possible heading into the July 31 trade deadline. He has a 0.74 ERA and 46/11 K/BB ratio in 36 2/3 innings this season.

Jesse Crain was unable to come into Tuesday's game against the Orioles due to tightness in his pitching shoulder. Crain felt the tightness while warming up in the bullpen. It's not clear at this point how long he might be sidelined, but it's obviously poor timing for one of the White Sox' most tradeable assets. Crain has been one of the best relievers in baseball this season, boasting a 0.74 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 46/11 K/BB ratio over 36 2/3 innings.

Jesse Crain (groin) returned to action Monday and allowed four runs on three hits and a walk over two-thirds of an inning against the Angels. Crain pitched in a pair of minor league games over the past week, but this was his first Cactus League appearance since February 25. While it wasn't pretty, he felt healthy and was clocked in the 93-94 mph range, according to Dan Hayes of CSNChicago.com. He's expected to make his next appearance Wednesday, after which the White Sox will make a decision whether to have him begin the season on the disabled list.
