Though his strong start has skewed his season numbers into respectability, know that you won't be getting that level of pitcher should you pick him up.

That record that looks like a football score is extremely unfair to Chavez as he's been very effective for the A's this season. With that said, 11 base runners in just two innings is a dreadful performance. Chavez has allowed at least four runs in six of his last nine outings and the innings may be getting to him as he's already surpassed a career-high in innings pitched. He'll look to pitch better next Friday against the Rangers in his next scheduled start.
