Hazelbaker was claimed off waivers by the Diamondbacks on Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hazelbaker posted a respectable .775 OPS over 114 games with the Cardinals this season, but the team risked losing him by removing him from the 40-man roster, and the Diamondbacks decided to snatch him up. The Diamondbacks currently have a multitude of outfield options on the roster, so it remains to be seen where exactly Hazelbaker fits in. However, he will likely at least have a chance to win a job during spring training.

Hazelbaker went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Philies.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie knotted up the game in the third with a 356-foot shot that plated pitcher Luke Weaver, erasing an early 2-0 deficit. The runs would turn out to be the only ones mustered by the Cardinals on Saturday, while also giving Hazelbaker two homers and three RBI over his last three games.

Hazelbaker is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
The Cardinals are going with a predominantly right-handed lineup Friday against Philly southpaw Adam Morgan, which will bump Hazelbaker back to the bench. Hazelbaker has made just two starts in the last week, making him harder and harder to roster in standard formats.

Hazelbaker will be called up from Triple-A Memphis, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hazelbaker, who got off to a great start with the Cardinals in April, will get another shot to prove that he belongs in the big leagues. In 40 Triple-A at-bats since being demoted, Hazelbaker is hitting .325/.438/.475 with one home run and 11 RBI. The corresponding roster move by St. Louis is not yet known, but Hazelbaker will join a crowded outfield that currently consists of Matt Holliday, Stephen Piscotty, Randal Grichuk, Tommy Pham and Kolten Wong. Consistent playing time will be hard to come by for the 28-year-old.

Hazelbaker was sent down to Triple-A Memphis on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old outfielder was having a pretty good season, hitting seven home runs and stealing a team-leading four bases. However, in 61 games he has struck out 45 times, and a minor league trip might get his discipline back on track.

Hazelbaker entered as a pinch hitter in Tuesday's loss to the Astros and hit a single in his one at-bat.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old rookie has slowed down after his hot start to the 2016 campaign when he recorded 13 extra-base hits (including seven home runs) in his first 85 at-bats. Since then, Hazelbaker has gone 7-for-38, without any extra-base hits. His plate discipline, or lack thereof, is rather troubling as he's struck out 45 times and has drawn just seven walks this season.

Hazelbaker hit a pinch two-run homer Saturday at the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Hazelbaker's seventh bomb of the year came with two outs in the ninth inning, pulling the Cardinals to within two runs in a losing effort. After a sizzling month of April, he's now gone 4-for-22 with a pair of homers as a part-time player in May.

Hazelbaker went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and three strikeouts in Sunday's 10-5 loss to the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Hazelbaker continues to thrive in a part-time role, but this was just his second start in the last eight games. With Randal Grichuk starting to warm up, Hazelbaker may find it increasingly difficult to pick up at-bats, despite his ongoing success.

Hazelbaker is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Matt Carpenter will reclaim his spot atop the order Sunday and Randal Grichuk is set to take over in center field in place of Hazelbaker for Sunday's series finale. After a hot start to the season, Hazelbaker has had an inconsistent role of late, getting just three starts over the last week.

Hazelbaker hit his fifth home run as part of a 2-for-2 game with three RBI after replacing the injured Matt Holliday (cramps) in Monday's loss to Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear how long Holliday will be out, but Hazelbaker's explosive start will make it easy for the Cardinals to give Holliday a day or two of rest if he needs it. Hazelbaker has showed absurd power thus far, with a .308/.333/.731 line in 19 games. The main question right now is how much playing time he can get -- between Holliday, Hazelbaker, Brandon Moss, Stephen Piscotty and Randall Grichuk, the Cardinals have a glut of outfielders, and Hazelbaker is still the least proven of these options despite his big start.
