Mathis went 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Giants in 10 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Mathis' base hit in the top of the sixth inning extended his hitting streak to a season-high 11 games, with the backstop batting .341 with six runs during that span. Due to his skills as a game caller, Mathis will continue to see about two or three starts per week even if his offense lets up, which seems like an inevitability for the career .199/.257/.310 hitter.

Mathis went 3-for-4 with a walk and two runs in Monday's 10-2 win over the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
The three hits matched Mathis' season high, which he had previously established Opening Day. Though valued almost exclusively for his pitch framing and game-calling skills, Mathis has had a surprising impact on the offensive end of late, recording at least one hit in 11 of his last 12 starts dating back to June 22.

Mathis went 1-for-3 in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
Mathis has regularly served as Zack Greinke's personal catcher this season, but he received the call behind the dish for the first game out of the All-Star break even though Taijuan Walker was starting. Though his playing time has been sporadic most of the season, Mathis has been surprisingly productive at the plate over the last month, going 10-for-33 (.303 average) in 10 games. He's still batting .188 for the season, however, which is roughly in line with his .196 career mark.

Mathis went 2-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Monday's 6-1 win over the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
With at least one hit in four of his last five starts, Mathis has shown some signs of life at the plate, but his career .196/.253/.307 batting line should temper any enthusiasm about adding him in NL-only leagues. The stolen base is even more of an anomaly than the two hits he notched Monday; it was Mathis' first since June 23, 2012.

Mathis went 0-for-2 with two strikeouts in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Mathis is an inferior offensive talent to the Diamondbacks' other two catchers, Chris Iannetta and Chris Herrmann, but he'll continue to serve as the battery mate for Zack Greinke, who has enjoyed a nice renaissance this season due in no small part to Mathis' skills as a receiver and game caller. Unfortunately for Mathis, his abilities on the defensive end aren't easily quantified in the fantasy game, so he might not even be worthy of rostering in NL-only formats.

Mathis is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Mathis is expected to shoulder much of the load behind the plate with Chris Iannetta (head) sidelined, but he'll take a day off after catching the past two contests. Chris Herrmann will assume catching duties in his stead.

Mathis went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Monday's 7-3 win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Mathis was making his fourth start in seven games and looks primed to take on the bulk of the duty behind the plate so long as Chris Iannetta (head) remains on the 7-day disabled list. Though Mathis has recorded two hits in both of his last two starts, he's only a .196/.253/.309 career hitter, so it's likely that he'll do more harm than good for fantasy owners while receiving an uptick in at-bats.

Mathis went 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts in Tuesday's 7-3 loss to the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
As has been the case throughout his career, Mathis has been a total zero at the dish for the Diamondbacks this season, with Tuesday's 0-for-3 effort dragging his batting average down to .121. Despite the easy out he presents for opposing hurlers, Mathis will continue to get at least a couple of starts most weeks due to his skills as a pitch framer and game caller.

Mathis is out of Thursday's lineup against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
This will mark the fourth time over the last six games that Mathis hasn't started behind the plate, as he continues sharing time with Chris Iannetta at the spot. For the season, Mathis owns a dismal .161/.188/.290 line.

Mathis is out of the lineup for Tuesday's matchup against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Over the last seven games, Mathis has gone just 1-for-14 (.071) and struck out four times. He'll get the night off while Chris Iannetta starts behind the plate and hits eighth.
