Taillon (6-7) struck out 10 batters in six innings Thursday, allowing just one run on four hits (including a home run) and two walks in the 6-3 win over Milwaukee.

Aside from a solo homer off the bat of Jesus Aguilar, Taillon was in the zone Thursday, fanning a season-high 10 hitters. The solid performance lowered his ERA to 3.91, the lowest it's been since mid-April. He owns a 103:30 K:BB this season with a 20:5 during the month of July. He'll face the Reds in Cincinnati next Friday.

Taillon (5-7) took the loss Saturday as the Pirates fell 3-2 to the Phillies, giving up three runs on five hits over 6.2 innings while striking out six.

EDGE Analysis

The right-hander cruised through six scoreless strong innings and seemed to be in complete control, but things fell apart for Taillon in the seventh. He threw 60 of 77 pitches for strikes en route to his eighth quality start of the season, and he'll carry a 4.05 ERA into his next outing Thursday at home against the Brewers.

Taillon allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits and three walks while striking out four across 4.2 innings Sunday against San Diego. He did not factor into the decision.

EDGE Analysis

Taillon struggled in a couple uncharacteristic ways Sunday, allowing a home run and surrendering three walks. He has now handed out three free passes in two consecutive starts after only doing that twice in his first 15 starts this season. That will be a trend worth monitoring going forward, as in order to maintain his value Taillon needs to work deep into games due to lack of a dominant strikeout rate.

Taillon limited the Mets to two runs in six innings Monday, allowing four hits and three walks while striking out five.

EDGE Analysis

The righty, who won for the third time in June, continues to move away from a fastball-centric approach. Taillon added a slider to his pitching repertoire in May and threw the pitch 24 times (25 percent) Monday. His fastball usage has dipped from about 70 percent to 50 percent and the results have improved in June (2.90 ERA in five starts covering 31 innings).

Taillon (4-6) allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out seven over five innings in Tuesday's loss to the Brewers.

EDGE Analysis

Taillon wasn't especially sharp Tuesday, but his final stats were a bit tainted by two weakly-hit singles by Brewers' leadoff man Lorenzo Cain. Cain beat out infield singles in the first and third innings and was eventually driven in by Jesus Aguilar in both frames. Taillon's mediocre outing raised his season ERA back above the 4.00 plateau. He'll look to put forth a more polished performance Sunday against the Diamondbacks.

Taillon (4-5) picked up the win in Wednesday's 5-4 victory over the Diamondbacks, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over seven innings while striking out four.

EDGE Analysis

The right-hander threw 72 of 108 pitches for strikes while delivering his third quality start in his last four outings and sixth of the year. Taillon will take a 3.94 ERA into his next start Tuesday at home against the Brewers.

Taillon (3-5) took the loss Thursday, allowing three earned runs over 5.0 innings. He racked up seven strikeouts but also allowed eight hits and a walk over 92 pitches.

EDGE Analysis

Taillon wasn't necessarily the problem for the Pirates as he kept them in the game before the mixture of Tyler Glasnow and Michael Feliz coughed up five earned runs behind him. Still, it wasn't Taillon's best effort overall; his eight hits allowed tied for his second-most in a single outing this season. His strikeout total makes it four straight starts with at least six K's, however. Taillon is lined up to make his next start Tuesday against Clay Buchholz and the Diamondbacks.

Taillon (3-4) struck out six in eight scoreless innings in a win over the Cardinals on Friday, allowing three hits and one walk.

EDGE Analysis

Taillon issued only one extra-base hit in Friday's contest, and threw 67 of 104 pitches for strikes. This was Taillon's fifth quality start on the year, and he's now brought his ERA down to 3.97 to go along with a 1.16 WHIP. The right-hander has a 60:18 K:BB in 65.2 innings, and he'll look to even his record in his next start against the Dodgers at home.

Taillon didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the White Sox, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks over 5.2 innings while striking out five.

EDGE Analysis

It was a relatively strong outing for the right-hander, but homers by the light-hitting Leury Garcia and Yolmer Sanchez prevented Taillon from having a shot at his third win of the season. He'll take a 3.97 ERA, and a somewhat worrying 1.2 HR/9, into his next outing Tuesday on the road against the Reds.

Taillon (finger) will start Wednesday against the White Sox as scheduled, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Taillon's status was up in the air after he was forced to leave his previous start early due to a finger laceration. It appears that the team is confident he'll be able to go. After giving up just two runs in his first three starts this season, the 26-year-old has since settled down near his career numbers, posting a 4.08 ERA in 39.2 innings.
