James Shields got the no-decision, allowing six runs in seven innings in Thursday's win over the Blue Jays. Shields was hammered, allowing three home runs in a start for the first time this season. Of course, there's no shame in giving up dingers to Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion (twice). Overall, Shields allowed eight hits, walked none, and struck out six. The right-hander will take his 3.36 ERA and 1.17 WHIP in search of his seventh win in his next start against the Cardinals on the road.

The win moved him to 5-3 on the year with a 2.54 ERA and 1.08 WHIP through nine starts. He's once again among the best starters in the American League. He'll look to keep his strong season going Sunday against the Orioles.

Other than that, he was nearly unhittable, allowing just two singles and two walks. Shields also struck out six over his seven innings of work. Shields will look to impove on his 3-2 record, 2.02 ERA and 0.95 WHIP Saturday against the Tigers.

James Shields fanned 12 while surrendering just one run in eight innings to beat the Astros for his first win of the year on Thursday. It was Feldman's seventh career 12-strikeout game, but his first since he joined the Royals a year ago; his season high last year was 10 strikeouts. Feldman gave up six unearned runs in his last start against the Twins, but outside of the one bad inning when all of them scored, he's been excellent through four starts, amassing a 2.00 ERA and a 26/6 K/BB ratio.

James Shields was tagged for seven runs (one earned) in 5 2/3 innings Saturday in a loss to the Twins on Saturday. The Twins scored six runs in the second inning thanks to a fielding error by Shields. He was all over the place during the outing, giving up six hits (including two home runs) and three walks while throwing 69 out of 115 pitches for strikes. At least fantasy owners can take solace in the fact that all but one of the runs were unearned. He'll look for some redemption when he faces the Twins again next week back in Kansas City.

James Shields allowed one run over seven innings but took the tough-luck loss against the White Sox on Sunday. Shields was locked in a pitcher's duel with Chris Sale for much of the day, and the right-hander came out on the wrong end after giving up a run in his final inning of work. In total, Shields allowed just five hits while striking out six. He now owns a 2.70 ERA and 0.82 WHIP but is still looking for his first win of 2014. He'll continue to search for it next week against the Twins.
