James Shields allowed one run over seven innings, striking out eight, in the Royals' 5-1 win over the Rockies on Tuesday. Shields limited the dangerous Rockies lineup to just five singles without walking a batter in his seven innings of work. The win moved him to 5-3 on the year with a 2.54 ERA and 1.08 WHIP through nine starts. He's once again among the best starters in the American League. He'll look to keep his strong season going Sunday against the Orioles.
