Paxton, who tore the nail on the middle finger of his pitching hand Tuesday, will have a fake nail put on to, hopefully, cement the torn nail in place so he can make his next start, the Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
After he gets the fake nail, he won't know about his next start until he sees how it responds after a bullpen session. Paxton, who tore the same nail late last season, had trouble gripping cutters and changeups Tuesday. He was reduced to throwing only fastballs and curveballs for the final three innings of his start.

Paxton tore the fingernail on the middle finger of his throwing hand in his last start, but hopes to still make his next scheduled start Monday against the Rangers, the Seattle Times' Ryan Divish reports.
EDGE Analysis
He tore the same fingernail last year, although this time it is not believed to be as severe. Paxton tore the fingernail in the third inning of his last start, and while he stayed in to pitch two more innings, he was limited to only fastballs and curveballs as he lacked the feel to throw his changeup. Continue to monitor the situation, as Paxton's ability to throw later this week could determine his status for Monday's start.

Paxton allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five over five innings in his return from the disabled list Thursday against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
He left with a lead, but it didn't hold up thank to Seattle's bullpen and defense. Nonetheless, this represents a solid return for Paxton, who continues to show much-improved control. He's walked only six batters in his last seven starts -- a massive sea change from last year's ugly 3.90 BB/9. With his seemingly relatively minor elbow injury behind him, look for Paxton to offer more length in future starts.

Paxton has been confirmed as Thursday's starter against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Paxton was activated off the disabled list earlier Thursday after missing just over two weeks with an elbow injury, and the team has now made it official that he'll start Thursday's tilt against Chicago. The lefty is coming off a pair of strong outings before landing on the DL, allowing just two runs (one earned) over 16.1 innings in his last two starts.

The Mariners activated Paxton (elbow) from the disabled list Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Paxton is ready to rejoin the Mariners' rotation after missing nearly three weeks with tightness in his elbow. The Mariners still have not officially confirmed him as their starting pitcher for Thursday's game against the White Sox, but all signs point to that being the case. Paxton will look to pick up where he left off after allowing just one earned run in 16.1 innings over two starts earlier in August.

Paxton (elbow) will likely slot back into the Mariners' rotation later this week, MLB.com's Greg Johns reports.
EDGE Analysis
Paxton threw just three innings in a rehab outing with Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday, but he did not run into any trouble and escaped the game without a setback, so it seems likely his next outing will come with the big club later this week. The Mariners' rotation this week is in flux, so it remains to be seen where exactly Paxton will jump in.

Paxton (elbow) will throw three innings in a rehab start for Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Upon completion of a bullpen session Thursday, Paxton was given an official start date and location for his minor league rehab assignment. The Mariners have not outlined a firm plan for Paxton but he may need one additional start beyond Saturday to build up his pitch count. Regardless, the lefty appears on track to return before the end of the month.

Paxton (elbow) is expected to throw a bullpen session Thursday, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The M's were forced to make a DL move with Paxton on Tuesday (retroactive to Aug. 8), but if he makes it through Thursday's bullpen and a subsequent live session, he should return next week shortly after his 15 days are up. Cody Martin will serve as Seattle's fifth starter on a temporary basis.

Paxton (elbow) was placed on the 15-day DL on Tuesday, retroactive to Aug. 8.
EDGE Analysis
Things were trending in this direction as Paxton was ruled out for Tuesday's start due to lingering forearm tightness, and the Mariners went ahead and made the move, recalling Cody Martin to fill Paxton's roster spot. It's uncertain if Martin or Joe Wieland will toe the rubber Wednesday. With a backdated stint, Paxton will be eligible to return as soon as Aug. 23.

Paxton (elbow) is still experiencing forearm tightness and will not start Tuesday's game against the Angels, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Seattle has said that a DL stint is possible for Paxton, however, it would be made retroactive to August 8, making him eligible to return Aug. 23. Before being injured, Paxton had been putting together a respectable season, posting a 3.53 ERA and 1.32 WHIP. Ariel Miranda will start in his place Tuesday.
