Mariners manager Scott Servais said that Paxton (elbow) is on track to start Tuesday against the Angels, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Paxton's last appearance came Aug. 7 against the Angels, when he covered 8.1 innings and gave up one unearned run. However, he was unable to escape the outing unscathed, as he took a liner off his left elbow before departing. X-rays on the elbow came back negative and didn't warrant a DL stint, and after completing a bullpen session over the weekend, it looks like Paxton is good to go. Paxton should be in line for a full workload when he returns to the mound Tuesday.

Paxton (elbow) said will throw a bullpen session Saturday and could start Tuesday or Wednesday in Anaheim, the Tacoma News Tribune's Bob Dutton reports.
EDGE Analysis
He felt some tightness during his throwing session Thursday, but said his throwing session Friday went well, and he is set for a bullpen session Saturday. Assuming that goes well, Paxton should rejoin the rotation either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Paxton said he felt some tightness in his elbow while playing catch Thursday, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty showed up at the ballpark Thursday with reduced swelling and gained clearance to play catch, but it seems he's still dealing with the effects from being hit by a comebacker last weekend. A return to the Mariners' rotation early next week is still on the table but so, it would seem, is a DL stint if the discomfort continues to linger.

Paxton said the "swelling is just about gone" from his elbow after being hit by a line drive, but he won't return until next week, the Tacoma News Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Paxton is expected to play catch Thursday and throw a bullpen session this weekend. If all goes well, he could be ready to return early next week to the rotation.

Paxton (elbow) is not scheduled to start for the Mariners this weekend.
EDGE Analysis
It was thought that Paxton could start this weekend against the A's, perhaps on Saturday, but Hisashi Iwakuma is listed as the probable starter Saturday and Wade LeBlanc is the probable starter Sunday. X-rays were negative on his elbow after he was hit by a comebacker in his last start and he played catch Wednesday, but it remains to be seen when he will make his next start. Monday's starter is listed as TBD, so Paxton could take the ball in that game against the Angels if his elbow is feeling better, but at this point it would be risky to assume Paxton will pitch for the big league club in the near future.

Paxton (elbow) is slated to play light catch Wednesday, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.
EDGE Analysis
X-rays were negative after Paxton was drilled on the elbow by a comebacker in the ninth inning Sunday, and it sounds like the extra rest provided by Thursday's team off day may be enough to allow Paxton to pitch this weekend without skipping a full turn. He was said to be feeling better Monday with reduced swelling. If it turns out Paxton cannot go this weekend, the Mariners can simply move their other starters up to go on normal rest.

Paxton (elbow) is expected to return by the end of the week, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fortunately for the club, it appears that a stint on the DL won't be necessary Paxton. The team currently plans to let Paxton have a couple more days off to allow his elbow swelling to reduce, but he should return in the near future.

Paxton's X-rays on his elbow came back negative, and he is considered day-to-day with an left elbow contusion.
EDGE Analysis
Paxton took a ball off of his left elbow in the ninth inning of Sunday's game, and immediately exited the game. The southpaw will be re-evaluated on Monday.

Paxton immediately exited Sunday's game after taking a ball off of his left arm in the ninth inning, Shannon Drayer of KIRO AM reports.
EDGE Analysis
Paxton pitched extremely well into the ninth inning of the contest, allowing one run (none earned) on five hits and a walk while adding six strikeouts before leaving. The team is hoping for a bone bruise, but Paxton has been sent for X-rays. The team should update his status again when the results are read.

Paxton came up empty in a brilliant effort, finishing with a no-decision in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Red Sox despite holding them to just one run on four hits while striking out six without a walk over eight innings.
EDGE Analysis
Paxton and Eduardo Rodriguez were both matching zeroes for a while, but the Boston starter finally blinked in the bottom of the seventh and gave up an RBI double to Dae-Ho Lee. The Mariners lefty sadly couldn't make the lead hold up, giving up a solo homer to Aaron Hill in the next frame. He still pitched well enough to win on most nights, and has now accrued an outstanding 21:2 K:BB over his last three appearances. A home matchup with a less explosive but still dangerous Angels offense should yield another strong start for the southpaw Saturday.
