Odorizzi (hamstring) is scheduled to throw four innings of a simulated game Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi is nearing a return to the Rays after tossing a 36-pitch bullpen Saturday without any issues. He'll get up and down four times in his next session to simulate a game and, if all goes well, it's looking like he could return to the lineup for next Monday's matchup against the Marlins.

Odorizzi (hamstring) threw a bullpen session and took part in some running drills Saturday, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
It appears that Odorizzi cleared a major hurdle Saturday as he threw a 36-pitch bullpen without incident and his hamstring held up to the increased activity. Odorizzi is eligible to return from the disabled list Wednesday in Baltimore, which lines up with when spot starter Erasmo Ramirez is lined up to start. If Odorizzi does come off the DL on Wednesday, he very well could be a candidate to start that night.

Odorizzi (hamstring) is expected to throw a bullpen session Saturday, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander seems to be progressing nicely after leaving his April 15 start with hamstring tightness. It's unclear when Odorizzi will be ready to face hitters again, but more details should emerge after he completes Saturday's session.

Odorizzi (hamstring) played catch on flat ground Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi left his start Saturday with hamstring tightness, and the Rays hope he misses just two starts. The 27-year-old allowed six runs in 13 innings over three starts to begin the season. Erasmo Ramirez will take his place in the rotation int he meantime.

Odorizzi (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander exited Saturday's contest with hamstring tightness, and although an official diagnosis has not been disclosed, the issue is apparently bad enough to warrant a trip to the DL. Odorizzi will likely miss his next couple starts, so look for Erasmo Ramirez or recent callup Chase Whitley to make some spot starts while he's sidelined.

Odorizzi left Saturday's game with left hamstring tightness, 620 WDAE's Steve Carney reports.
EDGE Analysis
He seemed to grab his leg before exiting in the bottom of the second inning against the Red Sox, so this injury makes sense. Thankfully it is not an arm injury, but Odorizzi should still be considered questionable to make his next start. He gave up one hit in a scoreless first inning and was relieved by Erasmo Ramirez.

Odorizzi, who was hit in the leg by a line drive in Monday's loss to the Blue Jays, isn't concerned about it having any residual impact in his Sunday start versus the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. "It feels like a bruise," he said. "I don't think it'll be a big issue."
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi had a ball mark on his left leg a day later but otherwise wasn't feeling any concerning degree of pain. The right-hander has gone six innings over each of his first two starts, generating a 4.50 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 8:3 K:BB.

Odorizzi (1-1) allowed just two runs on two hits and one walk across six innings of work in Sunday's win over the Blue Jays. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi the entirety of the damage against Odorizzi was done in the first inning on a homer from Josh Donaldson and an RBI groundout from Troy Tulowitzki, but he settled down beautifully afterward and did not allow another baserunner over his next five frames. He has allowed three home runs through his first two starts, bloating his ERA to 4.50 through 12 innings, but Sunday's outing should provide him some confidence heading into Saturday's matchup with the Red Sox.

Odorizzi (0-1) gave up four runs on seven hits, including two home runs, and two walks while striking out four over six innings in Tuesday's 5-0 loss to the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
He was fairly sharp for the most part, throwing 76 of 107 pitches for strikes, but Odorizzi made two mistakes to Ronald Torreyes and Chase Headley, which was two mistakes too many on a night when he wasn't getting any run support. The 27-year-old coughed up a career-high 1.4 HR/9 last season so this wasn't the most encouraging start to his campaign, and he'll get another tough test Sunday at home against the Blue Jays.
