Odorizzi allowed two hits and two walks across six scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Orioles on Thursday. He struck out seven batters.
EDGE Analysis
It was an impressive debut for Odorizzi, though he was ultimately stuck with a no-decision as Dylan Bundy dealt seven scoreless for the Orioles. The 28-year-old was able to keep the contact light, allowing just two singles, which is encouraging given his home run issues from 2017 (he conceded at least one home run in 17 of his first 18 starts). Odorizzi's tenure with the Twins is off to a solid start, and he'll look to keep things up when he toes the rubber in his next start, which is scheduled for Wednesday against the Pirates.

Odorizzi was named the Opening Day starter against the Orioles on Thursday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi will be followed by Kyle Gibson, Jose Berrios and Lance Lynn as the Twins revealed their plan for a four-man rotation to begin the season. In 2017 with Tampa Bay, he logged a 4.14 ERA and 1.24 WHIP with a 127:61 K:BB over 143.1 innings.

Odorizzi was bypassed for the start in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Orioles for maintenance purposes, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
The decision to hold out Odorizzi is twofold for the Twins, as it allows the team to insert the newly signed Lance Lynn into the pitching schedule while building in some rest for Odorizzi. The right-hander is set to throw a bullpen session Thursday before returning to Grapefruit League action against the Phillies on Sunday, when he's expected to cover around five innings or throw 75 pitches.

Odorizzi is scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Phillies, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Initially, Odorizzi had been tabbed with starting Tuesday's Grapefruit League outing versus the Orioles. However, the club decided to use Lance Lynn on Tuesday instead, opting to have Odorizzi throw a bullpen session Thursday then start Sunday's game. So far this spring, Odorizzi has thrown 6.1 innings over two games, allowing just one run on three hits and a walk.

Odorizzi has been traded to Minnesota from Tampa Bay for shortstop Jermaine Palacios, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi will move into the Minnesota rotation and help stabilize the top of the rotation that's set to miss Ervin Santana for at least a month with a finger injury. It's a curious return for the Rays, who gain a prospect not seen in the top 20 in the Minnesota organization.

Odorizzi will make $6.35 million in 2018 after winning his arbitration case, Marc Topkin of The Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Rays came in at $6.05 million but will be forced to cough up some extra case after losing their arbitration battle with Odorizzi for a second-straight season. In 2017, the right-hander started 28 games, posting a 4.14 ERA and 1.24 WHIP with a 127:61 K:BB over 143.1 innings.

Odorizzi left Friday's start with right knee soreness.
EDGE Analysis
This was Odorizzi's final start of the season anyway, so unless it turns out he suffered a freak tear to a ligament or something of that nature, Odorizzi's offseason shouldn't be impacted by this injury. He tossed four shutout innings and allowed just two hits with a walk and four strikeouts to end the season. Odorizzi's final ERA will be 4.14, the first time he has finished with an ERA over 4.00 since 2014.

Odorizzi (10-8) allowed one unearned run on three hits and two walks while striking out nine to earn the victory Saturday against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi gave up a first-inning run, but silenced the Orioles' bats the rest of the way while Lucas Duda smashed a three-run homer to give him enough run support to win his tenth game of the year. He's allowed just three earned runs over four September starts to lower his ERA from 4.85 to 4.26, and he's been a strong fantasy option down the stretch. He'll make his next start Friday against the Orioles.

Odorizzi (9-8) tossed six innings of two-run ball to earn the win Sunday against the Red Sox, allowing one hit with two walks and six strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi took a no-hitter into the sixth inning in this one, only to see Jackie Bradley Jr. ruin both that and the shutout with a two-run home run. He ran up his pitch count before finishing the frame and was not brought back out for the seventh, as his side turned over a newfound lead to the bullpen. Odorizzi has now allowed just three earned runs across 16.1 innings in his last three starts and will look to build off of this successful outing Saturday against the Ravens.

Odorizzi (8-8) allowed five runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks across 3.2 innings while taking the loss Monday against the Yankees. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi coasted through three innings before struggling in the fourth, when he allowed four runs on three hits, two walks, an error and a catcher's interference. Though his teammates' gaffs wiped four of the runs from his ledger, the team never mounted an offensive charge and doomed him to his eighth loss. Odorizzi was coming off of his best start in recent memory and will look to get back on track Sunday against the Red Sox.
