Lamb isn't starting Thursday's game against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb started each of the last two games but went 0-for-5 with a run, an RBI and two walks. Kevin Smith will start at the hot corner and bat ninth Thursday for Toronto.

Lamb will start at third base and bat eighth Wednesday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
For the second game in a row, Lamb will get the nod at third base over Kevin Smith while the Blue Jays oppose a right-handed starting pitcher (Luis Gil). Lamb turned in a modest line (0-for-2 with a walk) in Tuesday's 5-1 win, but that looks like it'll be enough to keep him ahead of Smith on the depth chart for now. Since being called up from Triple-A Buffalo in mid-August, Smith has gone 3-for-30 (.100 average) while striking out at a 29.4 percent clip.

Lamb was added to the Blue Jays' active roster Saturday and will be available off the bench against Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb should serve as a bench bat for the Blue Jays down the stretch, though he could also see some time at third base while Cavan Biggio (elbow/back/neck) and Santiago Espinal (hip) are both out. Lamb's 100 wRC+, the product of a .212/.321/.389 slash line, in 43 games for the White Sox before he was designated for assignment Wednesday isn't particularly impressive, but it was significantly better than what he'd accomplished over the previous three seasons, when he failed to reach 80 in that category.

Lamb was claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb was designated for assignment by the White Sox on Wednesday, but he'll find a spot on Toronto's 40-man roster. The 30-year-old was on the active roster for nearly a month after he was reinstated from the injured list in early August but saw sporadic playing time. The Blue Jays haven't yet announced whether he'll report to the minors or join the active roster, but he's unlikely to play a significant role if he reports to the big-league club.

Lamb was designated for assignment by the White Sox on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb had sporadic playing time with the major-league club and had appeared in just two of the last six games. He slashed .212/.321/.389 with six homers, 20 runs and 13 RBI across 43 games in the big leagues this year but will now be cast off the 40-man roster to help make room for Romy Gonzalez, whose contract was selected Wednesday.

Lamb went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Tuesday's 9-0 victory versus Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb got the most out of his only hit of the contest, crushing a 415-foot three-run homer to center field in the second inning. The long ball was his first since returning from a a long stint on the injured list Aug. 6. He is used mainly off the bench these days thanks in part to a paltry .219 batting average.

Lamb started at third base for a resting Yoan Moncada and went 1-for-3 with a walk in Wednesday's 1-0 loss to Minnesota.
EDGE Analysis
This was Lamb's first start since being reinstated from the injured list last Friday, although he did appear twice as a pinch hitter. He had been part of the rotation that filled in at left field when Eloy Jimenez was on the injured list, but Lamb suffered an injury himself and now has reduced playing time with Jimenez healthy.

Lamb (quadriceps) was activated from the 10-day injured list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb appeared in 16 games during his rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte over the past few weeks, and he'll rejoin the active roster ahead of Friday's series opener versus the Cubs. The 30-year-old has a .224/.333/.424 slash line with five home runs, 10 RBI and 16 runs in 99 plate appearances this season, and he should fill a utility role now that he's healthy.

Lamb (quadriceps) was not in the lineup for Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday and is expected to rejoin the White Sox on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb, who landed on the injured list with a right quad strain June 29, has seemingly been on a rehab assignment forever. He's played 16 games for the Knights, generating 61 at-bats. "Reports on him are very good. He's also added third-base play to the outfield play," manager Tony La Russa said before Thursday's game. "I think his rehab time is about out, so a decision on him will be coming pretty quick. You may see him sooner rather than later." Lamb was part of the crew that helped fill in for the injured Eloy Jimenez in left field earlier this season but has experience at each corner infield position.

Manager Tony La Russa said Sunday that he doesn't expect Lamb (quadriceps) to return from the 10-day injured list for the White Sox's three-game series with the Royals that begins Tuesday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Look for the White Sox to extend Lamb's minor-league rehab assignment through the end of the week before re-evaluating the 30-year-old for a return to the active roster. Lamb has already been on assignment at Triple-A Charlotte and has posted an .805 OPS over that span, but the White Sox don't look to be in any rush to activate him. With Luis Robert (hip) on a similar timeline to return from the IL and with Eloy Jimenez, Andrew Vaughn, Brian Goodwin, Gavin Sheets, Adam Engel and Leury Garcia already on hand in the outfield, the White Sox may not have room for Lamb as another bench bat.
