Irvin did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks over 4.1 innings against the Reds. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
After being handed a four-run lead before even throwing a pitch, Irvin never lost the lead but was pulled with one out in the fifth having thrown 94 pitches. Irvin had pitched at least five innings in eight of his previous nine starts but following a promising June in which he posted a 3.48 ERA, he's struggled to a 4.95 ERA since. His next turn in the rotation is scheduled for next weekend in a home matchup with the A's.

Irvin allowed two runs on six hits and two walks over 5.1 innings in Monday's win over Milwaukee. He struck out two and dd not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Irvin gave up one run through five innings before putting three straight Brewers on base in the sixth, ending his outing. He was tagged with 11 runs in just 15.2 innings over his previous three outings before Monday's decent performance. Irvin registered a 5.06 ERA across six July starts, raising his season ERA to 4.86 through 79.2 frames. His next outing is currently lined up for this weekend in Cincinnati.

Irvin did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks over six innings against Colorado. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Irvin was victimized by the long ball in the second, third and sixth innings, marking the first time this season in which he's allowed three home runs in a game. However, he still managed to get through six innings for the second straight start while logging his second-highest strikeout total of the season with seven. The right-hander has now surrendered five home runs over his last two starts and will look to keep the ball in the park in his next appearance, which is likely to come next week against the Brewers.

Irvin (3-5) allowed three earned runs on five hits and one walk over 6.2 innings Friday in a win over the Giants. He struck out nine.
EDGE Analysis
The nine strikeouts were a season-high (and career-high) for the 26-year-old right-hander, who hadn't missed many bats across his first 13 major-league starts. Irvin gave up a solo homer to J.D. Davis in the top of the first inning and a two-run shot to Joc Pederson in the top of the third, but he otherwise looked sharp while recording his third big-league victory. He lines up to face the Rockies at Nationals Park next time out.

Irvin did not factor into the decision Saturday, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk over three innings against the Cardinals. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Irvin struggled to get through the Cardinals' rotation, getting pulled after tossing 79 pitches in three innings of work. All of the damage came in the second inning, where Irvin allowed a solo home run to Alec Burleson and a triple to Brendan Donovan during the frame. Though Irvin owns a 4.96 ERA on the year, Saturday's start marked his first outing allowing more than three earned runs since May 30. However, he's only pitched six innings twice in that stretch.

Irvin (2-5) picked up the win Saturday, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks over five innings in an 8-3 victory over the Rangers. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was far from dominant, but Washington's offense handed Irvin an 8-0 lead before Texas finally got on the board in the fourth inning. It's the 26-year-old rookie's first win in two months, but he's been giving the Nats reliable innings lately, posting a 3.69 ERA and 1.29 WHIP over six starts since the beginning of June despite a mediocre 19:11 K:BB through 31.2 frames. Irvin may face some workload concerns in the second half -- he's thrown 81 innings already in 2023 between Triple-A and the majors but tossed only 103.1 innings in the minors last year -- but he appears to be firming up his grip on a rotation spot.

Irvin (1-5) yielded three runs on six hits and a walk over six innings Monday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Most of the damage against Irvin came in the fourth inning on Joey Votto's two-run shot. After posting a 5.67 ERA through his first six outings, Irvin owns a 3.71 ERA since the start of June. However, he's lost five straight decisions since his last win May 8. Irvin will carry a 4.70 ERA into his next outing, which is projected to be at home against the Rangers this weekend.

Irvin allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four over 5.2 innings to take a no-decision Tuesday versus the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Irvin started off shaky, as Teoscar Hernandez hit a two-run home in the first inning. After that, Irvin settled down and came up an out short of a quality start. The right-hander's winless stretch is up to eight starts, and he's still sitting on a mediocre 4.72 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 37:25 K:BB through 47.2 innings across 10 starts this season. Irvin is projected for a challenging home start versus the Reds next week.

Irvin (1-4) was charged with the loss Thursday against the Diamondbacks after he gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Irvin threw 61 of his 87 pitches for strikes and didn't allow any extra-base hits, but Arizona still scratched across single tallies in the first and fourth innings. The right-hander has a 4.71 ERA and 1.52 WHIP through nine starts this year, though he's been better in his past two outings with just two earned runs allowed.

Irvin didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Marlins, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander hadn't pitched since June 6 in order to work on some mechanical adjustments, and the tweaks paid immediate dividends as Irvin put together his best performance since he delivered a quality start against the Giants on May 8. He still wasn't particularly efficient however, throwing 88 pitches (55 strikes) before exiting with the score tied 1-1. Irvin's 5.25 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 27:22 K:BB through his first 36 big-league innings remain unimpressive, but the rebuilding Nationals don't have any better options for their rotation. He'll try to take another step forward in his next outing, likely to come at home next week against the Diamondbacks.
