Jake Arrieta (elbow) has thrown on flat-ground several times.
Arrieta had a bone spur removed from his throwing elbow in August. He's had no setbacks yet in his rehab and looks to be on track for the start of spring training. The 25-year-old right-hander posted a 5.05 ERA and 93/59 K/BB ratio in 119 1/3 innings this past season for the Orioles.

Jake Arrieta said that his surgically-repaired elbow is doing well and that he'll be 100 percent for spring training.
Arrieta had dealt with a bone spur in his pitching elbow since high school and finally had it removed in August after the pain became too much to bear. The 25-year-old right-hander held a 5.05 ERA and 93/59 K/BB ratio over 119 1/3 innings this past season and is locked into a rotation spot for next year.

Orioles activated RHP Jake Arrieta from the 60-day disabled list.
Arrieta had surgery in August to remove a bone spur from his right elbow, but is expected to be ready for spring training. The 25-year-old right-hander went 10-8 with a 5.05 ERA and 93/59 K/BB ratio over 119 1/3 innings this season. If healthy, he should have a claim on a rotation spot in 2012.

Orioles transferred RHP Jake Arrieta from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list.
It's a procedural move in order to add Willie Eyre to the 40-man roster. Arrieta underwent successful surgery Friday to remove a bone spur in his right elbow. He had the procedure early enough that he'll be allowed to go through his normal offseason routine and return 100 percent for spring training.

Jake Arrieta will undergo surgery Friday to remove a bone spur in his right elbow.
Arrieta could have been given multiple cortisone shots for the rest of the season and came back to pitch, but he's dealt with the issue for a while and has decided to go ahead and have the operation. He'll need 2 1/2 months to recover and will be allowed to have a regular offseason regimen before hopefully returning at 100 percent for spring training next season.

Jake Arrieta (elbow) will be placed on the disabled list before Friday's game.
Arrieta will likely need surgery to have a fibrous mass removed from above his right elbow. The procedure would knock him out for the rest of the season, but he should be fine come spring training next year. Arrieta's probable final line includes a 5.05 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 93/59 K/BB ratio over 119 1/3 innings. Chris Tillman will be recalled to take his spot in the rotation.

Jake Arrieta acknowledged Tuesday that he will likely need surgery to have a fibrous mass removed from above his right elbow.
Arrieta will see Dr. Lewis Yocum on August 10 before a decision is made about surgery. "Where it's at now, it's a pretty minor issue," said Arrieta, who contemplated having the surgery last year. "If Yocum says that we need to get it out so you can go ahead and be 100 percent from the first inning to however many innings you are out there, the first to eighth inning, then that's what we want to do." The 25-year-old right-hander expects to be ready for spring training if he has the procedure done soon.

Jake Arrieta left Tuesday's game after five innings with a right foot contusion.
An X-ray came back negative, so we should consider the right-hander day-to-day. Arrieta might have been done for the night, anyway, having thrown 103 pitches through five frames. He allowed four runs on five hits -- including a pair of home runs -- and two walks while striking out four. Luckily for him, Brandon Morrow was even worse, so Arrieta was able to pick up his 10th win. Assuming his foot is OK, he'll start Sunday in New York.
