Arrieta was lights-out against the Twins on Sunday, allowing just four hits and striking out seven in a complete game shutout. He did not walk a batter and earned his seventh win of the season in a Cubs blowout. After struggling with control and walking six batters in his previous start, it was a great sign that the 29-year-old was able to bounce back with this stellar performance. Arrieta lowered his ERA to 3.07 on the season to go along with a 9.5 K/9, and will attempt to keep it rolling Friday against the Cardinals.

Arrieta fell to 6-5 as he allowed four runs on three hits and six walks over five innings in a loss Tuesday to Cleveland. Arrieta had walked only 15 batters all year entering the start and and hadn't walked more than three in a start. He was still nasty enough to strike out six batters and he has struck out at least five in every start this season. That helped him limit the damage Tuesday, but his ERA still climbed to 3.40.

Arrieta will have his start pushed back to Tuesday against the Indians following Monday's postponement, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports. The Cubs and Indians will make up Monday's game on Aug. 24, so with no doubleheader in the works, manager Joe Maddon will simply move all his starters back a day. Arrieta is still scheduled to oppose Trevor Bauer, the original pitching matchup for Monday before the weather altered those plans.

Arrieta will not start Monday against the Indians after the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Neither team has provided an official update on when the game will be made up. Arrieta figures to get the ball for Tuesday's matchup at Wrigley Field rather than having his turn in the rotation skipped.

Arrieta (6-4) struck out eight and allowed three runs on eight hits over six innings Thursday in a road win over Detroit. He was working on a shutout until Yoenis Cespedes ruined it with a three-run homer in the sixth, but this is still another quality outing for Arrieta. He hasn't been quite as dominant as he was last season, but Arrieta's still been one of the better pitchers in the National League and one of the most reliable fantasy options around. He'll draw the Indians on Monday.

Arrieta improved to 5-4 with six strong innings Thursday against Washington, striking out eight while allowing six hits, no walks (though he did hit a batter) and one run. Arrieta uncharacteristically gave up three home runs his last time out -- he'd allowed just six in his prior 34 starts as a Cub -- but he got back on track in this one with a dominant effort, giving up just a run-scoring groundout by Bryce Harper after he ran into some trouble in the sixth. He hasn't quite been up to last year's standard, but Arrieta's still a very strong option for any fantasy rotation. He'll take the hill again Wednesday against Detroit.

Arrieta gave up four runs on eight hits -- including three home runs -- over seven innings in a no-decision against the Royals on Friday, walking none and striking out five. The three home runs allowed matched Arrieta's career high and his total from his nine starts of the season combined. His five strikeouts matched a season low, but Arrieta's overall numbers are still very good. His 2.71 FIP ranks fifth in the National League.

Arrieta labored through six innings Saturday, allowing six runs (three earned) on seven hits and two walks while recording seven strikeouts against the Diamondbacks. The Cubs ended up winning, but Arrieta didn't factor into the decision. He allowed just seven hits in his six innings, but was undone by his teammates' fielding issues and David Peralta's bases-clearing double in the fifth. Nonetheless, fantasy owners have nothing to worry about from Arrieta, who's established himself as a top-15 starter. He'll look to bounce back with a prettier stat line in his next start when the Cubs host Kansas City on Friday.

Arrieta was excellent once again on Sunday, striking out seven and walking just one during seven innings of one-run ball against the Pirates. Unfortunately, the 29-year-old received no run support on the day and earned a tough-luck loss, which was his fourth of the season. He has pitched very well in 2015, however, and now owns a shiny 2.77 ERA across 52 innings. Arrieta's next scheduled start will come on Saturday against the Diamondbacks.

Arrieta turned things around Tuesday after two poor starts, only allowing one earned run and three hits in eight innings against the Mets. In his two previous starts, Arrieta had allowed a combined eight runs, and Tuesday's start was his longest of the season. The solid outing pushed his ERA down to 3.00 and his WHIP to 1.07. He'll look to continue this success in his next start Sunday against the Pirates.
