Jacob Turner yielded four runs in five innings Tuesday in a loss to the Cardinals. Turner wasn't too bad; he got seven outs on the ground and he walked just one batter. Still, he may have needed a better outing with his rotation spot on the line. The Marlins may choose to send him down later this month and go with Kevin Slowey as their fifth starter.

The Miami Herald suggests that Jacob Turner's rotation spot could be in jeopardy. In two Grapefruit League appearances, Turner has given up six earned runs and struggled with his command. Marlins manager Mike Redmond said his performance is "definitely a concern" at this stage, but with just Kevin Slowey and John Maine as fallback options, it would be a surprise if Turner didn't open the season in the starting rotation. He'll look to get back on track in his start Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Jacob Turner bounced back from a terrible first outing to hold the Cardinals scoreless for three innings on Saturday. Turner gave up six runs in one-third of an inning versus St. Louis his first time out. He still figures to claim a spot in Miami's rotation if he's solid over the rest of the spring.

Jacob Turner was pounded for six runs in one-third of an inning by the Cardinals on Thursday. Turner walked three and gave up a grand slam to Oscar Taveras. The Marlins are counting on him to be a big part of their rotation after his nice finish last year (2.27 ERA in his final five starts), but at 21, he's still far from a finished product.

Jacob Turner was excellent in a no-decision against the Mets on Tuesday, allowing just one run on three hits over 7 2/3 innings. Turner fanned four. He sailed through the first seven innings unharmed until David Wright delivered an RBI single in the eighth. The youngster finishes on an extremely high note, having posted a 2.27 ERA and 18/9 K/BB ratio over his final five starts. The 21-year-old right-hander will open the 2013 season in the Marlins' rotation and should be a popular sleeper in fantasy drafts.

Jacob Turner was hurt by poor defense behind him as he allowed four runs (two earned) on six hits over six innings in Thursday's loss to the Braves. Turner racked up five strikeouts while walking three in the game. All four Braves runs were scored in the fourth inning, the final two on a miscue by Bryan Petersen in left field. Despite his 1-4 record, Turner has pitched well in his six starts with the Marlins, posting a 3.86 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 25/7 K/BB ratio over 36 frames. He'll look to finish the season strong when he takes on the Mets at home on Tuesday.

Jacob Turner was hit hard in a losing effort against the Mets on Friday, surrendering six runs (three earned) on eight hits in his five innings of work. Turner also walked one while striking out three in the contest. The Mets jumped all over him with three runs in the first inning, highlighted by a two-run homer off the bat of Scott Hairston. Turner will look to get back on track when he takes a 2-4 record, 5.23 ERA and 27/11 K/BB ratio into Friday's home match-up against the Phillies.

Jacob Turner turned in an outstanding effort in Friday's victory over the Reds, scattering just two hits over seven shutout innings. He walked two and struck out three in the impressive outing. It was his first victory in four starts as a member of the Marlins, and his second consecutive quality start. The 21-year-old right-hander will look to keep that momentum going when he takes on the Mets in New York on Friday.

Jacob Turner got lit up in his second start as a member of the Marlins on Wednesday, allowing five runs on six hits and two home runs in just five innings of a loss. Both bombs came off the bat of fellow top prospect Bryce Harper. Turner struck out six and walked none in falling to 0-2 as a Marlin. The 21-year-old righty will get the Brewers at home on Tuesday.

Jacob Turner will stay in the Marlins' rotation. Turner allowed three runs in six innings Wednesday in a loss to the Diamondbacks, but Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen liked what he saw beyond the box score. The promising 21-year-old right-hander was acquired from the Tigers in July in a package for Anibal Sanchez. He could be a decent streaming option for NL-only fantasy owners.
