Jacob Turner allowed two runs on six hits over five innings Monday against the Diamondbacks. He struck out five and walked three. The former first-round pick has only allowed six earned runs in four starts, posting a 2.16 ERA and 1.20 WHIP over 25 innings. Turner has only one win to show for his efforts, however, an unfortunate occupational hazard of pitching in South Florida.

Jacob Turner allowed four runs -- three earned -- in seven innings, taking a no-decision as the Marlins beat the Brewers on Tuesday. Turner has turned in three quality starts since being recalled, with Tuesday's being the worst of the three. Even so, he kept the Marlins in the game and avoided his first loss in the process. Turner now has a 1.80 ERA through three starts. His next start will come Monday in Arizona.

Jacob Turner allowed just one run over six innings Wednesday in the Marlins' loss to the Phillies. Turner did his part, yielding only four hits while fanning four batters in a no-decision. He was also excellent last Friday in his season debut against the Mets and is worth consideration in some deeper mixed fantasy leagues. The former first-round pick has always been a big talent and will get the slumping Brewers next.

Making his season debut, Jacob Turner spun seven scoreless frames in Friday's 5-1 win over the Mets. Turner cooled down the streaking Mets by allowing just five hits (four of them singles) and one walk. He struck out three in the victory and induced 12 ground balls. The young right-hander doesn't figure to get many wins with the Marlins, but he should be relevant in NL-only formats moving forward.

Marlins recalled RHP Jacob Turner from Triple-A New Orleans. Turner was supposed to break camp as a member of the rotation, but he really struggled in spring training and started the year in the minors despite injuries to Nathan Eovaldi and Henderson Alvarez. The righty got off to a slow start at Triple-A but has looked good in May, posting a 3.00 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in five starts. He'll start on Friday against the Mets and is worth a look in NL-only formats.

The Marlins will recall Jacob Turner from Triple-A New Orleans to make his season debut against the Mets. Turner got off to a slow start this season but has pitched well of late, posting a 3.00 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in five May outings. His performance in the majors to this point has been underwhelming, but the 22-year-old isn't lacking talent and is worth a shot in NL-only leagues.

Jacob Turner surrendered five earned runs over four innings this weekend at Triple-A New Orleans. Turner was supposed to have a spot in Miami's season-opening starting rotation, but he was beat out this spring by Jose Fernandez. The 21-year-old right-hander will have to pitch well at Triple-A to get called back up.

Marlins optioned RHP Jacob Turner to Triple-A New Orleans. Turner was assumed to have a rotation spot coming into camp, but he posted a rough 9.69 ERA and 5/9 K/BB ratio over 13 innings of work this spring. There's still plenty of potential here, but he'll try to improve at the Triple-A level. The final spot in the rotation figures to come down to either Kevin Slowey or John Maine.

Jacob Turner fell to 0-3 after giving up four runs in 4 2/3 innings Sunday against the Astros. Turner walked four more batters today. He now seems destined for some minor league time in April. Either Kevin Slowey or John Maine could replace him in the rotation. We favor Slowey.

Joe Frisaro of MLB.com writes that there's a chance that Jacob Turner will begin the season in the minors. Turner opened spring training as a favorite for a rotation spot, but Marlins manager Mike Redmond indicated on Tuesday that he's still competing for a job. Ricky Nolasco, Nathan Eovaldi and Henderson Alvarez are already expected to be in the rotation while Wade LeBlanc is likely to be the fourth starter, so the fifth spot will come down to Turner, Kevin Slowey and John Maine. Turner has a 10.80 ERA and 4/5 K/BB ratio over 8 1/3 innings this spring and will make his next start on Sunday.
