DeGrom (back) felt good and had no issues during a modified bullpen session Wednesday, James Wagner of The New York Times reports. He still believes he will be ready for Opening Day.
EDGE Analysis
This was essentially long toss from the rubber, with the righty throwing 15-to-20 pitches. DeGrom says the next step will be a full bullpen session. His optimism for the start of the regular season is due to the fact he feels he only needs to build his pitch count up to 70-75 pitches during spring training, and he feels he still has time to do that. It's worth discounting deGrom ever so slightly in drafts, but this doesn't seem like something that will have a major impact on his early-season availability.

DeGrom (back) may not be ready to pitch by Opening Day, Matt Ehalt of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom has been delayed twice this spring, first being away from the team for the birth of his daughter and subsequently while battling back stiffness. The initial reports regarding his back issue suggested that the issue was minor and that DeGrom would continue his throwing progression as normal. Manager Mickey Callaway now says that his status for Opening Day is uncertain. Future reports should make it clear whether DeGrom is at risk to miss a start or two. This may be a non-issue, but it's worth keeping an eye on.

DeGrom is battling lower back stiffness but will continue his throwing progression, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom's spring was already delayed a few days as he was away from the team for the birth of his daughter. This back issue may delay his first start by a few more days but doesn't seem likely to affect his availability for the start of the regular season.

DeGrom (personal) returned to Mets camp Saturday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom was away from the team for five days so that he could be with his family for the birth of his daughter. Although deGrom returned to camp, he isn't scheduled to pitch in a Grapefruit League game in the near future, as he first needs to increase his level of activity following his brief absence.

DeGrom left Mets camp Tuesday to be with his wife for the impending birth of the couple's second child, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander is expected to rejoin the Mets on Saturday after taking a few days to spent time with family. Given deGrom's importance to the Mets' rotation, it's unlikely that manager Mickey Callaway was planning on using him extensively early in the Grapefruit League schedule, so leaving the team for a brief spell probably won't put the pitcher too far behind the rest of his rotation mates.

DeGrom agreed to a one-year, $7.4 million deal with the Mets on Friday, avoiding arbitration, Matt Ehalt of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
He gets a significant raise from the $4.05 million he made in his first year of arbitration. The 29-year-old righty eclipsed the 200-inning mark (201.1 innings) for the first time in his career last season. For those who miss out on one of the top four starters, deGrom is an excellent consolation prize with a current NFBC ADP of 34 -- the eighth starting pitcher off the board, on average.

DeGrom has gastroenteritis and will not make his scheduled start Saturday, James Wagner of The New York Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Seth Lugo will move up to start Saturday in his place and Noah Syndergaard will start Sunday (limited to 25 pitches), so deGrom's season is over. This is a tough blow for owners who were relying on a final start from deGrom. He finishes the year with career bests in innings (201.1), strikeouts (239), strikeout rate (28.9 percent) and wins (15). While the rest of the Mets' rotation has been ravaged by injuries, deGrom proved to be a true ace, and should be treated as such in 2018 drafts.

DeGrom (15-10) allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits with no walks across six innings while taking the loss Sunday against the Nationals. He struck out 11.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom allowed a two-run home run to Trea Turner in the third inning and was saddled with an unearned run following a single and an error in the fifth. That tally was enough to sink the right-hander to his 10th loss despite what was a strong overall performance. DeGrom has been one of the only bright spots for the Mets this season and continues to throw well down the stretch, with a 28:5 K:BB and a 2.37 ERA over his last three starts. His final turn in the rotation for 2017 will come Friday against the Phillies.

DeGrom will make his next start Sunday against the Nationals, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom was initially supposed to take the mound for Friday's series opener, but he's apparently dealing with an upset stomach and some nausea, so the Mets will push his start back by a couple of days. He's not expected to miss a turn in the rotation due to the ailment, but Robert Gsellman and Matt Harvey will both move their scheduled starts up by a day to accommodate, with Gsellman now pitching Friday and Harvey on Saturday. DeGrom owns a 3.55 ERA and 228 strikeouts through 195.1 innings this season.

DeGrom (15-9) earned the win after allowing one run on five hits and two walks in seven innings Saturday against the Braves. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
The Braves scored their only run on a Freddie Freeman solo homer in the sixth inning, but otherwise deGrom was stellar. He's now allowed just three runs and racked up 17 strikeouts in 13 innings over his past two starts after struggling in his two starts prior. The 29-year-old deGrom will look to finish his year strong having already set career-highs in wins (15), innings (195.1) and strikeouts (228). He'll take a 3.55 ERA into his next start, which is scheduled for Friday against the Nationals.
