Kim will start in left field and man the leadoff spot Wednesday against the White Sox, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
After entering the season as the favorite to fill the larger portion of a platoon in left field, Kim has mostly become an afterthought with rookie Trey Mancini emerging as manager Buck Showalter's preferred option in that spot. However, with Chris Davis (oblique) hitting the 10-day disabled list Wednesday, it's expected that Mancini will now see most of his starts at first base, potentially opening up more at-bats for Kim in the outfield. Showalter will give an opportunity to the Korean import to prove himself in a table-setting role Wednesday with Seth Smith getting the night off, but look for Kim to occupy a lower spot in the lineup in subsequent starts.

Kim is hitting .246 in 61 at-bats with three extra-base hits and three RBI this season.
EDGE Analysis
After batting .302 last season, Kim has lost most of his playing time to rookie Trey Mancini, and the lack of consistent at-bats has led Kim's stats to drop to .246/.333/.328 on the season. As a left-handed hitter, he continues to draw some starts against right-handed pitching over the right-handed bat of Mancini, but it doesn't appear Kim will gain back his playing time unless he can start hitting better.

Kim is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Nationals, Roch Kubatko of MASNsports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Orioles won't have a DH spot available the next two games as they finish off a home-and-home series with the Nationals, so it's not expected that Kim will be included in the lineup Thursday either as the team looks to make room for Mark Trumbo's powerful bat in the outfield. Even if the Orioles were playing in an American League park and facing a right-handed starter, it's not a given that Kim would be included in the lineup, as manager Buck Showalter acknowledged earlier in the week that rookie Trey Mancini has cut into Kim's playing time. The lack of regular at-bats seems to be taking its toll on Kim, who is slashing just .227/.306/.381 on the season.

Kim's decreased playing time has nothing to do with his own performance, but rather the impressive (and unexpected) production of Trey Mancini, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Buck Showalter said that benching Kim has been "probably one of, if not the, most difficult thing" for him to manage this season. Rookie sensation Trey Mancini (.296/.320/.648) has seven home runs and 20 RBI through his first 20 games, completely dominating Kim's .227/.306/.318 performance over 19 contests. He'll continue to see at-bats in a platoon role for now, but it's becoming clear that the 24-year-old is being faded from Showalter's routine plans. It's a drastic shift from the preseason outlook, but Kim is quickly becoming irrelevant outside of deep daily leagues.

Kim is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Kim will take a seat for the seventh time in the last nine games as Trey Mancini gets the start in left field. Kim is slashing just .227/.306/.318 through 16 games this season and, as a result, the 29-year-old has seen his playing time against right-handed pitchers (or, his only playing time) take a dip.

Kim is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
He will sit four a fourth straight game, although three of those contests have come against left-handed starters, and Kim never starts against southpaws. Trey Mancini will get the start in left field and hit seventh.

EDGE Analysis
As expected, Kim will head to the bench with the Red Sox sending out southpaw Chris Sale. Trey Mancini is batting seventh and playing left field in his stead. Kim likely won't return to the lineup until Friday given the slate of left-handed pitchers Boston is set to deploy.

Kim didn't get his expected start against right-hander Rick Porcello on Monday, and with southpaws on the bump for Boston over the next pair of games, Kim may not play again until Friday, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a rough start in 2017 for Kim. When spring training opened, the 29-year-old was confident he'd receive more at-bats against left-handers this season, thus increasing his playing time. However, through the O's first 24 games, Kim's logged just one at-bat against southpaws while even ceding some plate appearances against right-handers. The outfielder is hitting .257/.350/.371 over 13 games played.
