Ryu is still shut down and will not throw a bullpen on Saturday, Andy McCullough of The Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
There is no set date for Ryu's return to begin throwing, according to manager Dave Roberts. His targeted mid-May return is looking more and more like it will need to be pushed further back, which is worrying due his shoulder injury in 2015 that caused him to miss the season after his return date of May 15 kept being pushed back. Alex Wood is currently in line for the fourth spot in the rotation with Mike Bolsinger likely rounding out the starters while Ryu recovers.

Ryu (shoulder) hasn't thrown off a mound in five days and will rest a few more days after experiencing discomfort in his surgically-repaired shoulder, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to manager Dave Roberts, the discomfort is only normal soreness and is not a setback in his recovery. It's not great to hear that he's having issues, but the Dodgers are playing it safe with the left-hander, which could help him stay on schedule for his mid-May targeted return date.

Ryu (shoulder) said Saturday that he expects to be ready to pitch for the major league team "sometime in May," Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander is being realistic about his expectations for 2016 after undergoing shoulder surgery last May, saying his goal is to reach 20 starts and 150 innings pitched. Ryu just begin incorporating changeups into his bullpen sessions this week, and has not yet started throwing breaking pitches. Alex Wood appears in line to round out the Dodgers' rotation as of now.

Ryu (shoulder) won't be ready for Opening Day, Eric Stephen of SB Nation reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Dodgers are stacked enough in rotation depth that they aren't going to bring Ryu back until they are sure he is absolutely ready. Without Ryu in the rotation, Alex Wood or Mike Bolsinger will likely step in for a few starts, but should land in the bullpen or Triple-A Oklahoma City once he comes back.

Ryu (shoulder) threw change-ups for the first time since surgery in a bullpen session Friday, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ryu hasn't started throwing breaking balls yet, but his recovery appears to be going according to plan and he is still expected to return around mid-April. The 28-year-old had a 3.38 ERA over 26 games started in 2014 and will look to pick up where he left off once healthy.

Ryu (shoulder) is slated to throw a bullpen session Friday, David Vassegh of Dodger Talk reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ryu continues to work back from offseason shoulder surgery and is reported to be roughly two weeks behind the rest of the Dodgers' staff at this point. His rehab is progressing smoothly, however, and the team looks to be targeting a potential debut sometime in mid-April, barring a setback.

Ryu (shoulder) experienced "normal soreness" a day after a bullpen session, Eric Stephen of True Blue LA reports.
EDGE Analysis
So far so good for Ryu in his return from shoulder surgery. He's behind the other pitchers right now, and though it's early, a best-case scenario for his 2016 debut could be April 15. Alex Wood could make a spot start or two if Ryu opens the season on the disabled list.

Manager Dave Roberts said Monday that Ryu (shoulder) is about two weeks behind the rest of the pitchers in his preparation, Andy McCullough of the LA Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ryu was able to throw several times in the last couple weeks, but he has yet to get up on a mound, and likely will not do so for a while longer. His status for Opening Day will not be determined until later this spring, but he will have some catching up to do in order to be ready.

Ryu threw a "low intensity" bullpen session on Thursday, Eric Stephen of True Blue LA reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ryu is still recovering from a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder. His bullpen session included approxmiately 35 pitches. The Dodgers don't have a timetable for his return yet, but are hoping the South Korean will be ready for opening day. It is a situation worth monitoring throughout spring training.

Ryu (shoulder), who resumed throwing from a mound in mid-January, has reportedly lost 20 pounds this offseason, according to J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News.
EDGE Analysis
Given that he's coming back from surgery to repair the labrum in his pitching shoulder, there isn't a firm timetable for Ryu's return. When asked about his recovery after his first mound session in January, Ryu said that he hopes to be ready for Opening Day. Nevertheless, the Dodgers' increased rotation depth affords them extra time if Ryu needs to begin the season on the disabled list and progress through the final stages of his recovery beyond the first week of April. If Ryu is healthy and ready to pitch on Day 1, Alex Wood may end up in the bullpen, or at Triple-A to begin the season, but it would hardly be surprising to see the Dodgers take a cautious approach with Ryu's recovery.
