Ryu will start Game 1 of the NLDS against the Braves on Thursday, Jorge Castillo of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The assumption was ace Clayton Kershaw would take the mound for Game 1, but manager selected Ryu to take the hill instead as Kershaw gets Game 2. Ryu pitched fantastic since coming off the disabled list in mid-August with a 1.88 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 53:5 K:BB over 52.2 innings.

Ryu (6-3) allowed four hits and no walks while striking out eight across six scoreless innings to earn the win Sunday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Ryu allowed only two runners to reach scoring position on the way to turning in his second consecutive scoreless effort. He has not allowed more than three earned runs in any of his 14 appearances this season, helping him to a 2.00 ERA. Not only has Ryu provided solid ratio stats all season, but he has raised his K/9 to 10.1, nearly two strikeouts better than his previous career-best.

Ryu (5-3) fired seven scoreless innings while giving up four hits and striking out five in a victory over the Rockies on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Monday's start didn't come at Coors Field, but Ryu's ace-like performance was still eye-opening against a powerful Rockies lineup. The 31-year-old attacked the zone, starting 14 of 24 batters with strikes. The southpaw also tied a season high with 15 swinging strikes. Ryu is putting together his best season to date with a 2.18 ERA (3.06 FIP), 1.04 WHIP and a 6.0 K/BB ratio over 70.1 innings. He will look to finish the regular season strong with soft matchups against the Padres (Sunday) and Giants (next Saturday).

Ryu (4-3) was handed the loss in Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, allowing three runs on eight hits over five innings. He walked one and struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Ryu gave up solo home runs to Brandon Dixon and Scott Schebler, but the Dodgers offense remained quiet throughout the game to saddle Ryu with the loss. The 31-year-old has allowed 15 runs (10 earned) over 33.2 innings (2.71 ERA) since coming off the disabled list in mid-August, and is next set to take the mound Monday against the Rockies.

Ryu (4-2) took the loss Wednesday, giving up five runs (three earned) on 11 hits over six innings while striking out eight as the Dodgers fell 7-3 to the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Only two of those 11 hits went for extra bases -- both doubles -- and Ryu could have had a much better result with a bit more BABIP luck. It was still the southpaw's third quality start in five outings since returning to the rotation, and he'll carry a 2.47 ERA into his next start Tuesday in Cincinnati.

Ryu didn't factor into the decision against the Diamondbacks on Friday, giving up two earned runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out five and walking none in the Dodgers' 3-2 victory.
EDGE Analysis
It was a solid outing for the left-hander, but he wasn't able to pick up his fifth win of the season as Arizona starter Zack Greinke also had a solid outing. Ryu is still putting up great numbers over 52.1 innings this season, as he's now got a 2.24 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP over that time, while holding opponents to a .198 batting average.

Ryu will toe the rubber versus Arizona on Friday after the Dodgers elected to move Clayton Kershaw back an extra day, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kershaw will now take the mound Saturday and be in line to face Colorado next week. Instead of facing the Rockies himself, Ryu will now take on the Mets on Wednesday following this upcoming start against the Diamondbacks. Across nine starts this year, Ryu has logged a 2.18 ERA and 1.01 WHIP with a 54:12 K:BB in 45.1 innings.

Ryu will start Sunday against the Padres, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ryu was originally scheduled to start Tuesday against the Rangers, but he'll get the ball for Sunday's series finale after Alex Wood had his start pushed back. The southpaw, who owns an impressive 2.27 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 10.4 K/9 through eight starts (39.2 innings) this season, will now take the mound on regular rest.

Ryu (3-1) took the loss Tuesday, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out four over four innings against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Ryu was done in by a poor third inning, allowing a pair of singles and a home run in the frame for all three runs he allowed on the evening. The 31-year-old has had a relatively tight pitch count in every outing this season, but aside from a start in which he exited with an injury, the 72 pitches (46 strikes) were the fewest he's thrown all year. Even with Tuesday's outing, he's still sporting a 2.27 ERA and a career-best 10.4 K/9 in eight starts. Next up is an interleague matchup in Texas next Wednesday.

Ryu fired six shutout innings with three hits allowed and six strikeouts in Wednesday's extra-innings win over the Giants. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Making his first start since the beginning of May while sidelined with a groin injury, Ryu was terrific. He didn't appear to be limited in anyway, as his 89 pitches (60 strikes) were about in line with where he was at when healthy, and he allowed just two runners to get as far as second base all game. The 31-year-old had been pitching well before getting hurt, and Wednesday's outing gives him a 1.77 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 42:10 K:BB across 35.2 innings. He'll next face the Cardinals on Tuesday.
