Hiroki Kuroda lost his Yankees debut Saturday, allowing six runs -- four earned -- in 5 2/3 innings to the Rays. Kuroda walked four batters and struck out only two while throwing just 55 of his 95 pitches for strikes. It was an ugly debut, but the right-hander has proven his reliability in the past and enjoyed a smooth spring. He should be able to bounce back next week against the Angels.

Hiroki Kuroda allowed one run over three innings against the Marlins on Monday in his final tuneup of the spring. Kuroda allowed three hits while walking one and striking out a pair. He finishes Grapefruit League play with a 2.92 ERA and 17/4 K/BB ratio over 24 2/3 innings. He's slated to start the second game of the season Saturday against the Rays and should carry plenty of fantasy value this season.

Hiroki Kuroda will get the nod for the second game of the season against the Rays on April 7. As expected. Kuroda is now also lined up to start the home opener against the Angels a week later. The 37-year-old right-hander has a sneaky good 3.45 ERA since arriving stateside in 2008 and should be quite helpful in mixed leagues this season.

Hiroki Kuroda allowed one run and six hits in 5 2/3 innings Friday in a win over the Phillies. Since giving up three runs in his first start of the spring, Kuroda has allowed one run in 12 innings of work. The Yankees' No. 2 starter, he should be an asset in mixed leagues this season.

Hiroki Kuroda hurled three shutout innings Monday night against the Astros. Kuroda allowed two hits while striking out two and walking two. The veteran right-hander threw just 24 out of 42 pitches for strikes, so he was hardly in mid-season form, but he was much better than his spring debut against the Rays last week.

Hiroki Kuroda was tagged for three runs in two innings by the Rays on Wednesday. After a quick first inning, Kuroda gave up three hits and all three runs in the second. A Stephen Vogt two-run triple was the big blow. Kuroda is expected to be the Yankees' No. 2 starter after signing a one-year, $10 million contract.

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that Hiroki Kuroda's one-year, $10 million contract with the Yankees also contains a full no-trade clause. It's not surprising, as Kuroda likely would have been dealt at last year's deadline but didn't want to waive his no-trade clause. It's very unlikely the Yanks would want to deal him, anyway, as he's been an integral cog in what figures to be another playoff team in 2012. Kuroda, who turns 37 in February, has a 3.45 ERA over his first four seasons stateside.

Yankees signed RHP Hiroki Kuroda to a one-year, $10 million contract. The two sides agreed to a deal nearly two weeks ago, but the finalization of the contract was reportedly held up due to language issues. Kuroda, who turns 37 in February, has a 3.45 ERA over his first four seasons stateside and should add some stability behind staff ace CC Sabathia and the newly-acquired Michael Pineda. Assuming Ivan Nova is also assured of a rotation spot, A.J. Burnett, Phil Hughes and Freddy Garcia figure to battle for fifth starter job during spring training.
