Gio Gonzalez delivered a strong performance in Saturday's victory over the Cubs, allowing just two hits over seven shutout innings.
Gonzalez punched out seven on the afternoon while walking a pair. It's the second straight start that he hasn't allowed a run, as he blanked the Brewers for six frames in Monday's start. Now 5-4 on the season, he'll bring a 3.93 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 71/29 K/BB ratio into Saturday's rematch against these same Cubs in Washington.

Gio Gonzalez got a no-decision in his return from the disabled list, allowing four runs over five innings in Wednesday's win over the Astros.
The lefty missed a month of action with inflammation in his left shoulder. He was a bit rusty against the Astros, but it could have been worse. He allowed five hits, walked three, and struck out six. Gonzalez now owns a 4.85 ERA with a 1.37 WHIP and a 59/23 K/BB ratio over 10 starts. He'll go up against the Brewers on the road in his next start.

Nationals activated LHP Gio Gonzalez from the 15-day disabled list.
Gonzalez will make his return to the Nats' rotation on Wednesday versus the Astros. The left-hander missed a month of action with left shoulder inflammation but can safely be returned to fantasy lineups immediately in what is a nice matchup in his first outing back.

Nationals manager Matt Williams announced Sunday that Gio Gonzalez (shoulder) will return to the Nationals starting rotation on Wednesday against the Astros.
Tanner Roark will get the ball in the series opener on Tuesday. Gonzalez has been sidelined since May 18 due to inflammation in his pitching shoulder, but looked good during his minor league rehab assignment. With the plus matchup, it's probably a good gamble to re-insert Gonzalez into fantasy lineups immediately for the coming week.

Nationals manager Matt Williams confirmed Friday that Gio Gonzalez (shoulder) will return to the Nationals starting rotation next week.
With an off-day on the schedule, Williams wouldn't declare that Gonzalez would pitch on Wednesday, as the team could opt to push him back to later in the week. Fantasy owners may want to give him one start to shake off the rust before re-inserting him into lineups next week.

Gio Gonzalez (shoulder) allowed one run on two hits and four walks over four innings in his final rehab start with High-A Potomac on Thursday.
Gonzalez needed 79 pitches to cover the four innings, but he did record seven strikeouts. Although he's thrown a total of just 7 2/3 innings in his two rehab outings, Gonzalez has gotten his pitch count up enough that he should be fine to return to the Nationals' rotation next week.

Gio Gonzalez (shoulder) will make one more rehab start for High-A Potomac on June 12.
Gonzalez' last start was supposed to be his final before returning to the Nationals, but the organization was displeased with his command in his last start. Assuming things go better on Thursday, he should be activated in time for a start the following week.

Gio Gonzalez (shoulder) will make a rehab start with High-A Potomac on Friday.
He's slated to throw 65 pitches in the outing. Assuming Gonzalez gets through the start with no issues, he'll rejoin the rotation next week, likely on June 11 in San Francisco. The left-hander has been sidelined since May 18 with left shoulder inflammation.

Gio Gonzalez (shoulder) threw a successful three-inning simulated game on Sunday.
Gonzalez was slated to throw 50 pitches. "His velo was up," said Tyler Moore, who faced Gonzalez. "His curveball was sharp. Change-up was good. Throwing strikes when he needed to. He was trying to work on his curveball for a strike so he did it a few times. I think he looked good. Tough at-bat for sure." Assuming he recovers fine, Gonzalez will make a rehab start later this week, with an eye on a return to the Nationals' rotation on June 11.
