Gio Gonzalez (shoulder) threw a successful three-inning simulated game on Sunday. Gonzalez was slated to throw 50 pitches. "His velo was up," said Tyler Moore, who faced Gonzalez. "His curveball was sharp. Change-up was good. Throwing strikes when he needed to. He was trying to work on his curveball for a strike so he did it a few times. I think he looked good. Tough at-bat for sure." Assuming he recovers fine, Gonzalez will make a rehab start later this week, with an eye on a return to the Nationals' rotation on June 11.
