Mike Stanton belted a two-run shot in Thursday's win over the Astros. He also drew a pair of walks, reaching base in three of four plate appearances. Stanton has dealt with vision problems in his right eye again lately, but he's now homered in consecutive nights and has 18 bombs on the year. Just imagine if he could actually see.

Mike Stanton walked the Marlins off in the 10th inning on Wednesday, depositing a Danys Baez pitch over the left field fence in a 7-6 Florida victory. Stanton could not have picked a better time to hit his first home run in 21 games. Hopefully this is a sign he's finally over the lingering issues caused by his right eye infection.

Mike Stanton visited an ophthalmologist again Wednesday to get his right eye checked out. "They ran a bunch of tests and whatnot, and we needed to dilate them to be confirmed," Stanton said. "By that time it was too late, so I wouldn't have been able to play tonight. They know what's going on and it should be situated, so don't ask me what's going on. It's too complicated -- all those big words." Stanton will take eye drops and visit an eye doctor during the All-Star break. He missed three games last month with the issue and admits that the eye still bothers him during night games.

Mike Stanton acknowledged Monday that he is still having vision problems in his right eye. Stanton struck out 17 times in 36 at-bats during the Marlins' recent road trip. He was treated for an eye infection last month, but nothing has been solved and the Marlins don't have a quick fix. "I'm having trouble seeing still," said the powerful outfielder. "With all the lights in the stadium, it feels like it doesn't distribute the lights the right way. It feels like I'm kind of looking through something hazy. It's a bunch of different things."

Mike Stanton (eye infection) is back in the lineup Tuesday. Stanton missed the previous three games with an eye infection but on Monday visited a specialist, who probably gave him some drops to clear up the issue. He's hitting sixth against the Angels' Ervin Santana.

Mike Stanton was scratched from Saturday's lineup with a right eye infection. Stanton was set to be the designated hitter Saturday, but Marlins manager Edwin Rodriguez pulled him from the lineup after seeing him take batting practice. "After BP, I talked with him," said Rodriguez. "He said that his right eye was bothering him. Seeing the ball was a little bit blurry. He's not 100 percent, especially the middle-away pitch." The eye issue has bothered him for at least a few days, so the Marlins plan to send him to a doctor for further evaluation. Jose Lopez will be the DH on Saturday night against the Rays.
