Stanton (side) is out of the lineup for the fifth straight game Sunday against the Braves, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton continues to deal with discomfort in his side, proving this can often be a nagging injury, especially for hitters with that type of bat speed. Ichiro Suzuki will get another start at right field in his stead -- his fourth in the last five games. Considering Stanton hasn't even been able to pinch hit during his absence, he should be thought of as questionable, at best, for Monday's series opener against the Pirates.

Stanton (side) remains out of the lineup Saturday against the Braves, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton continues to deal with discomfort in his side, and Saturday will mark his fourth consecutive absence. The outfielder took 15 swings off of a tee Friday and did some soft toss in the batting cage, but he remains without a definitive timetable to return to game action. Consider Stanton, who's struggled out to a slow start, day-to-day until the Marlins say otherwise.

Stanton (side) did some work in the batting cage prior to Friday's game against the Braves, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton took 15 swings off a tee and did some soft-toss work in the batting cage prior to the series opener in Atlanta, but remains without a definitive timeline for a return. He's batting just .214/.326/.481 on the season with 12 home runs and 26 RBI in 43 games.

Stanton (side) is not in Friday's lineup against the Braves, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton will miss his third straight game on Friday after sitting out Wednesday's contest against the Rays and then being held out of the lineup Thursday. Manager Don Mattingly said he had "a little soreness" on his right side and with Stanton's line of .173/.287/.373 in May, this rib soreness could contribute to his slump. Stanton's status for Saturday's game is uncertain, and the Marlins will start Cole Gillespie in right field Friday.

Stanton (side) is not in Thursday's lineup against the Rays, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton was held out of Wednesday's game with what manager Don Mattingly called "a little soreness" on his right side, and the issue is apparently still persisting. The outfielder should continue to be considered day-to-day, and the Marlins will go with Cole Gillespie in right field Thursday.

Manager Don Mattingly said Wednesday that Stanton "has a little soreness" on his right side, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mattingly's announcement gives a bit more context as to why Stanton was left out of the lineup for Wednesday's meeting with the Rays. The slugger hasn't looked like himself at the plate this month, slashing a mere .173/.287/.373 with four home runs and seven RBI compared to the eight home runs and 19 RBI he racked up in April. According to Craig Davis of the Sun Sentinel, Mattingly believes Stanton's rib soreness is minor and the hope is that he won't be sidelined long. Still, Stanton's status heading into Thursday's series finale is uncertain.

Stanton is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton hasn't gotten a day off since April 29, and considering the slumping slugger's .140/.246/.280 slash line over the past two weeks, the Marlins decided it was a good time to get him some rest. Ichiro Suzuki will take over in right field in his stead Wednesday.

Stanton went 1-for-4 with a solo homer Tuesday against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton's 12th bomb of the year got the Marlins on the board in the sixth inning of a losing effort. It was only his second homer in his last 17 games, and he's now slashing .214/.326/.481.

Stanton struck out in all four of his plate at-bats during Wednesday's loss to the Phillies, wrapping a hitless three-game set with the division rivals.
EDGE Analysis
It's been quite the streaky start to the season for Stanton, who is batting just .098/.196/.195 in his last 12 games (41 at-bats). In the 11 games prior, he belted seven home runs while slashing .395/.531/.1.026. The power production is as expected overall, but with a meager .221 average and .335 OBP, the slugger has been more of an all-or-nothing proposition in 2016.

Stanton is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Phillies, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton will be rested for just the third time this season, giving way to Ichiro Suzuki in right field, who will also lead off the contest. Stanton is currently on pace for a career-best .984 OPS, and sits at third in the National League with 10 home runs. After going without a base knock Saturday to snap a three-game hitting streak, he'll get a regular maintenance day, though look for the slugger to be available off the bench in a pinch-hit situation.
