Stanton went 3-for-5 with a triple, two runs scored and three RBI in Wednesday's 10-7 win over the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
That's now back-to-back multi-hit performances for Stanton, and while he's had some trouble making consistent contact in the early going, he does still have three homers and 10 RBI through 12 games. Expect his .235 batting average to continue rising now that Stanton appears to be settling in to his new environment and new uniform.

Stanton went 0-for-7 and struck out five times in Sunday's loss to the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Sunday's hitless showing drove Stanton's batting average down to .167 for the year. The reigning National League MVP has struggled to make contact lately, as this was the second time this season that he struck out five times in a game. Over 48 plate appearances this season, Stanton has been fanned 20 times.

Stanton went 3-for-5 with two home runs, a double, four RBI and three runs during Thursday's 6-1 win over the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Both of Stanton's homers were no-doubt shots, and after leaving the yard 59 times last season, 2018 is off to a promising start. The elephant in the room continues to be his health, but serving primarily as the designated hitter should help, and many of his past injuries were unlucky. Buckle up, Stanton has the potential to post a league-winning stat line.

Stanton appears to be the Yankees' preferred choice at cleanup hitter, as he has primarily hit fourth this spring while Aaron Judge hits second and Greg Bird hits third.
EDGE Analysis
When Bird has been out of the lineup, Stanton has moved up to the three hole with Gary Sanchez hitting cleanup, but Bird figures to start most games, particularly against righties, so Stanton's primary spot will likely be the four hole. He is hitting .333/.391/.667 with one home run, four strikeouts and one walk in 21 at-bats this spring. The only question with Stanton is how many games he will play, as he should provide elite counting stat production when healthy.

The Yankees officially announced Monday that they acquired Stanton and cash from the Marlins in exchange for Starlin Castro, Jorge Guzman and Jose Devers.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Stanton approved the move to New York and the deal was made official Monday morning. The 2017 NL MVP, who hit .281/.376/.631 with 59 homers and 132 RBI in 159 games last season, will join an already potent lineup that led the majors in homers and was second in runs scored and RBI last year.

Stanton will approve the trade to the Yankees, and is on his way to New York to complete his physical, Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
News broke earlier Saturday morning that an agreed-upon deal would send Starlin Castro and prospects to the Marlins in exchange for Stanton and some cash, but the trade hinged upon the slugger's approval due to his no-trade clause. In a highly non-surprising move, Stanton agreed to waive the clause, and is set to become a Yankee pending the results of his physical. At this point, there has been no word on which prospects will head to Miami, but it sounds like the package will entail lower-level minor leaguers.

The Yankees and Marlins have agreed to a trade that would sent Stanton to New York for Starlin Castro and prospects,Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports. Stanton must still approve the deal, Jon Heyman of Fanrag Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's assumed Stanton will approve the deal since the Yankees were on a list of four teams he reportedly said he'd be willing to be traded to. It's not clear what prospects may be involved.

Stanton was named National League MVP on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton ended up narrowly edging out Joey Votto to take home his first MVP award. The slugging outfielder put together a historic campaign during which he led the majors in both homers (59) and RBI (132), while also hitting an impressive .281/.376/.631 in 159 games. He'll be the subject of trade talks all offseason, though he ultimately has the right to veto or accept any trade.

Trade talks between the Marlins and Red Sox for Stanton "may be heating up," according to a Major League Baseball source, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports. "They're definitely in play," the source said of the Red Sox, who are at least exploring the possibility of acquiring MLB's reigning home run king.
EDGE Analysis
The Marlins are believed to be prepared to entertain offers for Stanton at next week's meeting of general managers that kicks off Monday in Orlando, Fla. Other teams are reportedly in the mix, including the Cardinals, Phillies and Giants. Stanton has the right to veto or accept any trade, and there's speculation that he would prefer to play on one of the coasts. The Red Sox are circling after a year in which they experienced a drop in power.
