Manager Don Mattingly will give Stanton the day off for the second time in the past four games as the Marlins close out their weekend series against the Brewers. Ichiro Suzuki will take over in right field and bat eighth in his stead.

Stanton is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Phillies, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton will get the day off as manager Don Mattingly rests the Marlins' entire starting outfield ahead of the team's weekend series against the Brewers. Despite a slow start to September, the 27-year-old slugger is still slashing an impressive .279/.375/.636 with 54 homers in 143 games. Look for him to be well rested for Friday's series opener in Milwaukee.

Stanton went 1-for-5 with a solo home run Saturday during the Marlins' 6-5 loss to the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
He became the first player to slug 54 homers in a season since Jose Bautista did it in 2010. The blast was a 456-foot monstrosity -- the second-longest at SunTrust Park -- with an exit speed of 113.7, per Statcast. The big-league leader is in a fine position to threaten 60 by season's end.

Stanton is out of the lineup Friday against the Braves, David O'Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton was playing on another level during the month of August. Over 29 games he hit .349/.433/.899 and slugged 18 home runs. However, he's had a slow start to September, as he's gone just 3-for-24 (.125) across seven games. However, two of his three hits have been home runs. Ichiro Suzuki will start in right field while Stanton sits out Friday.

Stanton went 2-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored in Saturday's win over the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
His 52nd of the year snapped a three-game homerless drought. Amazingly, he's had just one longer stretch of games without a home run since the All-Star break (July 27-Aug. 2). Stanton's putting up video game numbers and looks like the fantasy MVP at what was a reduced cost during draft season.

Stanton went 1-for-3 with a walk, a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
He was already one of only six players in history to hit 50 or more home runs before September, joining Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, Roger Maris and Luis Gonzalez in a very exclusive club, but Stanton's first-inning solo shot was also his 18th of the month -- tying Rudy York's 80-year-old MLB record for August, with two games left on the calendar. It's also worth noting that of the five other players in the "50 before September" club, only Gonzalez failed to finish the season with at least 60 homers.

Stanton went 3-for-3 with a walk, a double, a home run, and three RBI in Sunday's victory over the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton entered Sunday's game with an outrageous .374/.462/.956 line for the month of August. He proceeded to continue his dominance as he mashed his 50th home run of the season and brought his RBI total up to 108. Stanton hasn't shown any signs of slowing down and will look to keep putting on a show when the Marlins face the Nationals and Phillies in the coming week.

Stanton went 3-for-3 with a walk, a double, two home runs, three runs scored and five RBI in Friday's 8-6 win over the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Ho hum, another monster performance from the most dangerous slugger in the game. Stanton's five RBI were a season high, and he now has six more games before the end of the month to hit just one more dinger and become the first NL player in history with 50 homers before September. His huge second-half run -- 23 home runs in 39 games since the All-Star break -- has also carried the Marlins back over the .500 mark for the first time since late April, and into wild-card contention.

Stanton went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Thursday's win over the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
He just refuses to slow down. Stanton's now slashing .345/.433/.893 with 14 homers and 27 RBI through 22 games in August, and his 47 blasts on the season is the most by an NL player before September since Ryan Howard swatted 49 in 2006.

Stanton went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in Sunday's win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
His seventh-inning shot off Jacob deGrom proved to be crucial and provided the Marlins with insurance runs they would need after the Mets answered back with three runs in the eighth. Stanton now has a league-leading 45 homers on the year, including an incredible 12 in 18 games through August.
