Fedde will have inaugural MLB start moved to Sunday as a part of the team's doubleheader with the Rockies, Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The pitching prospect was originally tabbed to throw Saturday's game, but after Friday's game was postponed due to inclement weather, Tanner Roark -- Friday's scheduled starter -- will hop back a day and start Saturday instead. This leaves Fedde and veteran Edwin Jackson to split Sunday's twin bill, although it's unclear which game each of them will take or who they will oppose on the mound given that the Rockies haven't revealed their pitching plans for the remainder of the weekend.

Fedde will start Saturday in place of the injured Stephen Strasburg, Jamal Collier of MLB.com reports Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Baker confirmed Fedde would get the call-up at the same time he announced Strasburg would be placed on the 10-day disabled list. Strasburg is expected to miss just one start, so Fedde's stay could be brief. The club has expressed concern about Fedde's innings this season, so it's hard to imagine him settling into the rotation long term no matter what happens with Strasburg. It's unclear when the Nationals will make the official roster move, as they could decide to bring up an extra bullpen arm until Fedde is needed.

Fedde will likely be called up to replace the injured Stephen Strasburg for Saturday's start against the Rockies, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde was Washington's 2014 first round pick and is now their top pitching prospect. He has appeared just four times at Triple-A, with a 5.57 ERA that is inflated by a brutal first start in which he allowed six runs before recording an out. Fedde owned a sharp 3.04 ERA with 54 strikeouts in 56.1 innings at Double-A Harrisburg. As Fedde won't be starting until Saturday, the Nationals may wait a few days to make the official roster move.

Fedde got the start Monday for Triple-A Syracuse but failed to record an out, allowing six runs on five hits and two walks in a loss to Buffalo.
EDGE Analysis
Ouch. The Nationals experimented with Fedde as a reliever this season in an effort to control his innings and position him for a promotion to the majors if he took to the role, but the team has apparently decided to pull the plug on that experiment and develop the 24-year-old as a starter once again. He hadn't pitched in a week and the shifting instructions can't have helped his focus, so don't read too much into the one extremely bad outing. Fedde remains the top pitching prospect in the organization.

Fedde was promoted to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Nationals' top pitching prospect responded well to his shift to the bullpen, compiling a 2.63 ERA and 19:4 K:BB through 13.2 innings with Double-A before being rewarded with a promotion. It appears Fedde is inching closer to joining the big-league bullpen, and he could be up with the Nationals relatively soon depending on how he handles competition at Syracuse. He'll continue to be viewed as a starter long term, though.

Fedde has a 3.60 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 16:2 K:BB in 10 innings over seven relief appearances since being moved to the bullpen with Double-A Harrisburg.
EDGE Analysis
After being scored upon in each of his first three relief outings, Fedde has settled into his new role nicely. The Nats' No. 4 prospect is a possible candidate to join the major-league bullpen later in the season, but the team still views him as a starter in the long term.

Fedde will operate as a relief pitcher with Double-A Harrisburg for the remainder of the season, Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde, one of the Nationals' top prospects, is off to a solid start with Double-A Harrisburg this season. The 24-year-old holds a 3.16 ERA over his first 42.2 innings with the minor-league club. Though the Nationals still view Fedde as a long-term starting pitcher, he'll make the move to the bullpen this season in order to limit his workload while potentially setting him up for an eventual promotion to the team's underperforming major-league bullpen.

Fedde (1-1) gave up one run on five hits and three walks while striking out eight over seven innings in Double-A Harrisburg's 1-0 loss to Hartford on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The fourth-inning run was the first Fedde had allowed in three starts to begin the season, leaving him with an outstanding 0.50 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 17:6 K:BB through 18 innings. The Nats' No. 3 prospect turned 24 just before the season began, so if he continues to dominate Double-A hitters a promotion to Triple-A should be in the cards, but as he's not yet on the 40-man roster Fedde might have to wait until 2018 to make his major-league debut. Then again, with Washington expected to be in pennant contention, the front office may find it makes sense to start his service clock early if the staff needs a boost down the stretch and they feel the righty's mid-90s fastball, sharp slider and improving changeup are ready for the Show.

Fedde was reassigned to minor league camp Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Now that Tanner Roark is back in camp, the club no longer had room for the right-hander, who impressed manager Dusty Baker despite his recent rocky outing. Regardless of where Fedde is assigned to start 2017, the 24-year-old should see at least a cup of coffee with the big club this year.

Fedde was tagged for five runs on four hits and three walks in just 1.2 innings during Friday's Grapefruit League game against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
He was scheduled to go four innings, but Fedde's command completely deserted him and a Miami lineup that featured a number of their regular starters made quick work of the 24-year-old. The Nats' No. 3 prospect could head back to minor league camp after this outing, with Max Scherzer (finger) and Tanner Roark both expected to rejoin the spring rotation over the next week, and Fedde will likely begin the regular season with Double-A Harrisburg looking to build on a strong 2016. A late 2017 major league debut isn't out of the question.
