Edwin Jackson surrendered six runs -- five earned -- on 10 hits over six innings in a no-decision on Friday against the Padres.
He struck out four and didn't walk a batter. This was a horribly disappointing outing, as E-Jax parachuted into a starter's dream (when he took the mound in the bottom of the first at spacious Petco Field, Chicago already led 6-0) and still couldn't record the victory. Jackson tossed three shutout innings before unraveling. He is 0-2 with a 6.95 ERA and 1.86 WHIP over four August starts. Leave Jackson (7-13, 5.00 ERA) out of your lineup in his next outing against the Dodgers in L.A.

Edwin Jackson was smacked around for seven runs on 10 hits and two walks over just five innings in Tuesday's loss to the Phillies.
Jackson faced the minimum in the fourth inning, but he had baserunners galore over his other four frames. The inconsistent right-hander seemed to right the ship in July, posting a 1.83 ERA, but it looks like it's back to the drawing board again. He'll try to bounce back this weekend in St. Louis.

Edwin Jackson allowed one run over eight innings in a win over the Brewers on Wednesday.
Jackson scattered eight hits while striking out four to pick up his seventh win of the year. The right-hander was 3-1 with a 1.85 ERA in July, and he seems to be past whatever was troubling him in the early part of the season. He'll face off against the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday.

Edwin Jackson blanked the Cardinals for seven innings on Thursday to win his third straight start.
After three months of awful results, Jackson has finally found his groove, it seems. He's lowered his ERA from 5.84 to 5.11 with the three victories. He should be picked up for the second half in any mixed leagues in which he's unowned.

Edwin Jackson tossed 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball Saturday in the Cubs' defeat of the Pirates.
Jackson was sharp, yielding only four hits and two walks while striking out three. But his lack of consistency makes him a difficult starter to trust in standard fantasy leagues. The right-hander has a 5.50 ERA and 1.51 WHIP over 93 1/3 total innings this season. He will face the Cardinals at Wrigley Field next time out.

Edwin Jackson allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings to take the loss against the Brewers on Tuesday.
Jackson didn't have much going on Tuesday, as he allowed six hits and two walks while striking out just one. The loss moved him to 3-10 on the year, and he owns a 5.84 ERA and 1.56 WHIP to boot. His next start will come Sunday against the Mariners in Seattle.

Edwin Jackson surrendered four earned runs over 5 1/3 innings Wednesday in a loss to the Cardinals.
Facing one of his many former teams, Jackson yielded six hits and gave up two walks -- a dangerous amount of baserunners for the Cardinals' hot lineup. The hard-throwing right-hander struck out only one batter. He'll carry a 3-9 record, 5.49 ERA and 1.55 WHIP into his next scheduled start in Milwaukee against the Brewers.

Edwin Jackson fired six innings of one-run ball Friday in a 6-3 win over the Mets.
It was only his third win of the season. Jackson allowed five hits and three walks while striking out seven. He has allowed two runs in 13 innings over his last two starts, lowering his ERA from 6.29 to 5.40 in the process. Jackson is much better than what he has shown until this point, so we expect it to continue to go down in the coming days and weeks. Still, it'll be tough to trust him against the first-place Cardinals next week in St. Louis.
