Gregorius is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Ronald Torreyes gets the nod at shortstop. There has been no mention of an injury setback with Gregorius, so it seems the Yankees are just being cautious with the 27-year-old in his first week back from a shoulder injury. Gregorius rattled off five straight starts following his activation from the DL, going 7-for-23 (.304 average) with three runs scored, four RBI and five strikeouts to one walk.

Gregorius went 3-for-6 with a pair of RBI in Sunday's loss to the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Since being activated off the disabled list Friday, Gregorius has been slotted sixth or lower in the lineup all three games, but it hasn't stopped him from producing in a big way. Over the weekend series, the shortstop went 7-for-15 with four RBI and a couple of runs scored. Clearly the .467 average will eventually drop back down, but the 27-year-old has shown no signs of rust as of yet after missing the first month of the season, and he seems poised to pick up where he left off from last year's breakout campaign in which he hit .276 with 20 home runs.

Gregorius is starting at shortstop and batting sixth Friday against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Gregorius will slot right back into the starting lineup after being activated from the disabled list earlier Friday. He'll continue to serve as the Yankees' everyday shortstop moving forward.

Gregorius (shoulder) was activated from the 10-day disabled list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Gregorius was reinstated in time for the Yankees' weekend series against the Orioles after missing the first month of the season with a strained shoulder. The 27-year-old looked sharp in his minor-league rehab assignment, going 8-for-18 (.444) with one homer and one stolen base through five games. He should resume everyday shortstop duties for the Yankees moving forward, sending Ronald Torreyes to the bench.

Gregorius (shoulder) will be activated from the disabled list Friday, Pete Caldera of the Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gregorius opened the season on the disabled list after suffering a shoulder injury in the World Baseball Classic. Upon his activation, look for him to take over as the Yankees' starting shortstop. Gregorius has played five games during his rehab assignment at High-A Tampa, during which he's gone 8-for-18 (.444) with a home run and a double.

Gregorius (shoulder) could return to the lineup as soon as Friday against the Orioles, the Bergen Record's Pete Caldera reports.
EDGE Analysis
He will play in one more rehab game Wednesday with High-A Tampa, and could then join the Yankees in New York. He is hitting .429 with one home run and zero strikeouts over 14 at-bats during his rehab assignment. Ronald Torreyes is starting at shortstop and hitting ninth against Rick Porcello on Wednesday.

Gregorius (shoulder) will go to High-A Tampa for a rehab stint starting Friday, Mike Mazzeo of the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Joe Girardi indicated he'd like to see his shortstop play in seven or eight rehab games in all and that he didn't think Gregorius would play all of those games on consecutive days, so at this point the 27-year-old may be about two weeks away from being ready for his season debut. Gregorius has been able to swing and throw without incident in recent weeks, so the rehab stint will likely just serve as a stand-in for spring training games, as the shortstop saw just two games of Grapefruit League action.

Gregorius (shoulder) is expected to begin playing in rehab games this week, Dan Martin of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
There's still no set timeline as of yet for how many rehab games Gregorius will need to go through, but given the right shoulder injury he sustained at the World Baseball Classic cost him the final two weeks of the spring, the Yankees may play it cautiously with the 27-year-old. Ronald Torreyes has held down the fort well at shortstop in his stead with a team-leading 10 RBI in the early going, but Gregorius should slot back in as the starter once he's back to full health.

Gregorius (shoulder) has progressed to taking light swings and throwing, the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Joe Girardi noted that even though the shortstop remains weeks away from returning from the disabled list, Gregorius appears to be progressing well. The initial diagnosis called for the 27-year-old to miss about a month of the season with the shoulder strain, so it sounds like he remains on course for that timeline. Ronald Torreyes will likely continue to see the majority of the starts at shortstop in his stead.

Gregorius (shoulder) recently started a throwing program, the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gregorius hadn't previously tested out his shoulder at all in the two weeks since sustaining a shoulder strain in the World Baseball Classic, so it's an encouraging sign that he's now taking the first steps in the road to recovery. Still, the 27-year-old is expected to miss all of April, so expect Ronald Torreyes to continue filling in at shortstop for at least the opening month of the season.
