Dexter Fowler had a nice night at the plate on Tuesday, going 2-for-3 with a pair of walks in a losing effort against the Pirates. The 26-year-old outfielder is enjoying a true breakout season, hitting .304 with 11 homers, 38 RBI and seven stolen bases. Tuesday marked just the second time of the season that Fowler had hit out of the third slot in the lineup, but if it becomes a regular occurrence the extra RBI opportunities would drive his fantasy value even higher.

He's broken out in a big way in the first half of the season, hitting .296 with 11 homers, 36 RBI and seven stolen bases.

Dexter Fowler is out of the Rockies' lineup again on Tuesday because of lingering lat soreness. Fowler also sat out Monday, but the Rockies don't seem overly concerned about the discomfort. Tyler Colvin is starting in center field Tuesday night in St. Louis.

It sounds like Fowler should have a shot to be back in there in a day or two. Eric Young is handling center field against Kyle Lohse and the Cardinals.

Dexter Fowler is not in Monday's lineup against the Cardinals. No word yet on the reason for his absence. Fowler hasn't been nearly as productive on the road this season, so perhaps Rockies manager Jim Tracy is just using Monday's game as an opportunity to work Eric Young, Jr. into the lineup.

Dexter Fowler went 2-for-4 with a triple in Sunday's shutout loss to the Padres. The three-bagger was already Fowler's ninth of the season, and leaves him with 29 extra-base hits through 228 at-bats. Coming off a .290/.380/.484 June, Fowler is batting an impressive .289/.383/.544 on the year.

He now has his average up to .297 with the recent hot streak to go along with his eight homers, 28 RBI and five steals. It sure looks like he's finally starting to deliver on the massive promise that we've been hearing about for years, and he looks locked in as the Rockies leadoff hitter.
