Reds general manager Walt Jocketty said Monday that he hasn't discussed a trade with the Rockies for Dexter Fowler or with the Athletics for Coco Crisp. That doesn't mean it won't happen, but perhaps their reported interest in the outfielders is overblown. The Reds would like to add a center fielder, preferably one that can bat leadoff, but it appears that their top priority right now is to re-sign Ryan Ludwick. They'll meet with Ludwick's agent Tuesday.

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Phillies have talked to the Rockies about a trade for Dexter Fowler. Rosenthal says, not surprising, that the Rockies would want pitching back in return "for now and the future." In other words, it would likely require a major league-ready starter and good starter prospect in order to pry Fowler away from the Rockies, who have said they're not shopping the outfielder. The Reds have also expressed interest in Fowler.

FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi reports that the Reds are interested in Dexter Fowler. Fowler isn't being shopped, but the Rockies are listening to offers. Morosi writes that Homer Bailey could be part of a potential deal between the two teams, and that talks could be helped by the fact that both players earn comparable salaries. ESPN's Jerry Crasnick was told by a source that the asking price for Fowler is "sky high," so he remains far from guaranteed to be traded. The Reds are considering a number of free agent alternatives for their outfield, including Ryan Ludwick and Cody Ross.

Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com hears that the Rockies' asking price for Dexter Fowler is "sky high" and the outfielder is unlikely to be traded. Crasnick also notes that potentially interested teams are concerned about Fowler's career splits, as he boasts an .882 OPS at Coors Field in his career but a .698 mark on the road. It's still early in the offseason, so things could change once more center field dominoes fall, but it appears that Fowler will probably stay put.

Thomas Harding of MLB.com hears that the Rockies are not shopping Dexter Fowler. However, he says the Rox are "listening," and they could decide to move him depending on how the free agent center field market shakes out. The Denver Post has reported that the Braves might be viewing Fowler as a backup plan if they're unable to land B.J. Upton. Harding believes the Rays might also have some interest in Fowler.

Dexter Fowler (wrist) appeared as a defensive replacement in Monday's win over the Diamondbacks. He entered the game in the ninth inning before D.J. LeMahieu pinch-hit for him in the 11th. Fowler will not hit for the rest of the season due to inflammation in his left wrist, so he can be dropped in redraft fantasy leagues.

An MRI revealed that Dexter Fowler is dealing with tendon inflammation in his left wrist. He will be in a brace for the next two weeks and won't be able to hit for the remainder of the season. He may be used as a defensive replacement or pinch-runner if the Rockies choose to.

An MRI on Dexter Fowler's left wrist came back negative. Fowler entered Thursday's game as a defensive replacement, but it remains to be seen whether the Rockies will start him at all over the final six games. The outfielder is batting .300/.389/.474 with 13 homers and 12 steals this season.
