Dee Gordon will remain with the Dodgers now that Casey Blake has been sent to the disabled list.
Said Manager Don Mattingly, "I haven't thought about it too much because things kind of changed" (with Blake) "but we don't want [Gordon] to be here and not play. If Dee's here, he's got to play." It's good news for the slumping rookie, who will get a chance to work out the kinks in the majors.

Dee Gordon will likely be sent back to Triple-A Albuquerque once Rafael Furcal (oblique) returns from the disabled list.
And with Furcal wrapping up his minor league rehab assignment on Friday night, a move could be made very soon. "We will make that decision on Sunday," said Dodgers manager Don Mattingly. "It is a decision we will make when we have to make it. (General manager) Ned (Colletti) and I haven't really even talked about it at this point." The Dodgers discussed moving Rafael Furcal to second base, but Gordon's recent struggles have put that issue on the backburner for now. The 23-year-old enters play Friday with a .243/.267/.297 batting line and a 16/2 K/BB ratio over 77 plate appearances.

Dee Gordon went 0-for-5 in the loss to the Angels on Friday, dropping his average to .246.
Gordon should be a nice regular in time, but we're not so sure the Dodgers need to move Rafael Furcal to second base to make room for him now. To go along with the .246 average, he has a 14/2 K/BB ratio and just two extra-base hits in 61 at-bats.
