David Robertson picked up his seventh save of the season with 1 1/3 scoreless innings against the Mets on Thursday. The Yankees were in a bit of a pickle, as the Mets had the tying run on third base with two outs in the eighth inning, so they called on Robertson to squelch the threat. He did, inducing David Wright to ground out. The ninth inning was easy as pie for him, getting consecutive strikeouts of Chris Young and Lucas Duda to end the ballgame. Robertson, the successor to Mariano Rivera, has done well when he has been healthy, converting all seven of his save chances while posting a 1.74 ERA with a 12/2 K/BB ratio in 11 1/3 innings.

David Robertson locked down his fourth save of the season with a scoreless inning against the Angels on Sunday to preserve a one-run lead. It's the second consecutive day that Robertson has preserved a one-run lead in the ninth, proving that he's fully recovered from his groin injury and capable of becoming a top-notch closer. As long as he can stay on the mound, he should produce elite numbers by season's end.

David Robertson slammed the door on the Angels in the ninth inning on Saturday, preserving a one-run lead and securing his third save of the season. It was Robertson's first test in the closer's role since returning from the disabled list on Tuesday, and he passed with flying colors. He did allow a one-out single to Mike Trout who promptly swiped second base, but was able to get Albert Pujols and Howie Kendrick to strand the tying run in scoring position. He has yet to allow a run in five innings on the season.
