Santana (quadriceps) will play left field and bat seventh for the club's Grapefruit League opener against the Mets on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Santana appears to be at full health heading into Atlanta's spring games after missing the last month and a half of the 2017 campaign with a left quadriceps strain. He will be competing for a spot in the outfield following a disappointing campaign split between Minnesota and Atlanta last season.

Santana (quadriceps) agreed to a minor-league deal with the Braves on Thursday, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports.
EDGE Analysis
Santana will return to the Braves' organization, where he spent the majority of his 2017 campaign following the trade from Minnesota. The Braves opted to non-tender the utility man after he battled injury and limped to a 52 wRC+ in 69 games played this past season. The 27-year-old is coming off a season-ending quad injury but is expected to be ready for the start of the 2018 campaign.

The Braves declined to tender Santana (quadriceps) a contract for 2018, David O'Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
Santana flashed a bit of promise with the Twins a few years ago, but he's been unable to follow up in subsequent seasons. A poor batting eye has held him back (4.0 percent walk rate, 23.1 percent strikeout rate for career), but Santana has some speed and could land a bench role out of spring training, if healthy.

Santana (quadriceps) was reinstated from the 60-day DL on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Santana spent the last month and a half of the 2017 season on the shelf with a quad injury, although he didn't make much of an impact when he was on the field, slashing just .202/.243/.357 in 82 games between Atlanta and Minnesota. Looking ahead, he should be at full health and ready for spring training.

Santana (quad) was placed on the 60-day DL on Tuesday, David O'Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
The plan was for Santana to return to the Braves' active roster this week, but he tweaked his quad again during a rehab game and that setback will cost Santana the rest of the season. As a light-hitting utility man, Santana won't warrant consideration outside of deep, league-only formats next spring.

Santana (quadriceps) will be activated from the 10-day disabled list Monday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Prior to landing on the DL in mid-August, Santana had seemingly displaced Matt Adams as the Braves' everyday left fielder, but the 26-year-old will have to settle for a bench role now that he's healthy again. With Matt Kemp having beat him back from the DL to take over regular duties in left field and all of the Braves' infield spots occupied by young building blocks, Santana may only be in line for a handful of starts as the season winds down.

Santana (quadriceps) is aiming to return from the disabled list next week, David O'Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
Santana is nearing a return from a strained quadriceps that forced him on the disabled list Aug. 18. It's possible he'll embark on a brief minor-league rehab stint before rejoining the big club. When he does return, he'll serve as a utility man for the Braves.

Santana was placed on the 10-day DL with a left quadriceps strain prior to Friday's game against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Santana started the past four games and has played in every contest since Aug. 5, but will miss a chunk of time while recovering from this setback. The outfielder hasn't been swinging the bat well recently, slashing just .161/.175/.286 since the All-Star break. In a corresponding move, the Braves recalled Micah Johnson from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Santana will start in left field and bat sixth Wednesday against the Rockies, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Santana drawing his fourth straight start in left field and with three of those coming against an right-handed pitchers, it appears he's moved ahead of the lefty-hitting Matt Adams on the depth chart for now. Santana has only gone 1-for-10 in the previous three contests, however, so he may need to start producing soon in order to maintain his regular spot in the lineup.

Santana went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's win over the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
The homer was his fourth of the year but first since June 19. Santana's only managed a .217/.260/.400 slash line in 57 games since joining the Braves, but with Matt Kemp (hamstring) and Matt Adams (head) both on the shelf at the moment, the 26-year-old utility player seems to be the Braves' preferred option in left field.
