Santana appears to be at full health heading into Atlanta's spring games after missing the last month and a half of the 2017 campaign with a left quadriceps strain. He will be competing for a spot in the outfield following a disappointing campaign split between Minnesota and Atlanta last season.

With Santana drawing his fourth straight start in left field and with three of those coming against an right-handed pitchers, it appears he's moved ahead of the lefty-hitting Matt Adams on the depth chart for now. Santana has only gone 1-for-10 in the previous three contests, however, so he may need to start producing soon in order to maintain his regular spot in the lineup.

Santana went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's win over the Dodgers.

EDGE Analysis

The homer was his fourth of the year but first since June 19. Santana's only managed a .217/.260/.400 slash line in 57 games since joining the Braves, but with Matt Kemp (hamstring) and Matt Adams (head) both on the shelf at the moment, the 26-year-old utility player seems to be the Braves' preferred option in left field.
