Santana went 2-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Santana's triple, his second of the season, knocked in an insurance run in the 3-1 victory. He no longer plays every day as he did when filling in for an injured Rougned Odor, but the Rangers value his versatility and give him four-to-five starts per week. Santana is slashing .291/.331/.470 over 145 plate appearances.

Santana went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Santana got the start in center field in place of the injured Joey Gallo, who was placed on the 10-day injured list with an oblique injury. While Gallo is unavailable, expect Santana and the recently called up Delino DeShields Jr. to play center field.

Santana (ankle) will start Monday against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Santana fouled a ball off his ankle Saturday and was supposed to be unavailable Sunday. He wound up entering that game as a pinch hitter, hitting a home run and later scoring the winning run in extra innings. He's evidently healthy and ready to go and will bat second as the shortstop Monday.

Santana (ankle) entered Sunday's game as a pinch hitter and went 1-for-1 with a walk, a solo home run and two runs scored in a 5-4 extra-inning win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Santana was supposed to be unavailable off the bench but launched his fourth homer as a pinch hitter in the eighth. He later walked in the 10th and scampered home on Nomar Mazara's sacrifice fly to score the winning run. After taking a 97-mph fastball off his right ankle Saturday, Santana looked like he'd miss a few days, but he tested the ankle prior to the game and was confident he could play, per T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com. It's still not clear if manager Chris Woodward wants to keep Santana off the field for a day or two, so his status for Monday's game against Seattle is uncertain.

Santana (ankle) is out of the lineup and won't be available off the bench for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Rangers will resist moving Santana to the injured list for now while he tends to a bruised right ankle, but his absence leaves the team with a light bench in the series finale. If Santana fails to demonstrate any noteworthy progress within the next day or two, a trip to the IL will become increasingly realistic.

Santana was diagnosed with a bruised right ankle after X-rays came back negative Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Santana was hit by a pitch in the right ankle during the ninth inning and required some assistance to leave the field. The 28-year-old went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts prior to the hit-by-pitch, and should be considered day-to-day.

Santana will lead off and start at shortstop Thursday against the Royals, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Batting out of the top spot in the lineup against Royals right-hander Homer Bailey gives Santana some appeal in daily formats, but it doesn't look as though the switch-hitting utility man will be tasked with an everyday role following shortstop Elvis Andrus' (hamstring) recent move to the injured list. Instead, Logan Forsythe -- who has recorded multi-hit performances in each of the past three games -- looks to be first in line for reps at shortstop. There will be room on the left side of the infield for both Santana and Forsythe for at least one day with normal third baseman Asdrubal Cabrera resting in the series finale.

Santana started in center field and went 2-for-4 in Saturday's 11-4 loss to the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Santana, who has an .892 OPS in 22 games, made his first outfield start of the season after filling in for injured regulars at second and first base until now. He's expected to be in the lineup again Sunday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Santana is not in the lineup Thursday against the Astros, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Ronald Guzman returning from the injured list and immediately entering the lineup at first base, Santana finds himself as the odd man out for Thursday's series opener. The utility man has hit .311/.358/.541 with three homers and six stolen bases in 20 games with the Rangers this season, so even with Guzman's added presence, manager Chris Woodward will likely look to figure out a way to keep Santana's bat in the lineup.
