Duffy (3-4) gave up six runs on seven hits and two walks over 3.2 innings in a loss to the Brewers on Friday. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy was fine through the first three innings, but he was hit hard in the fourth. Christian Yelich's solo shot and Jacob Nottingham's grand slam accounted for most of the damage against Duffy. The southpaw had his start pushed back from Tuesday due to discipline for missing the team flight to Detroit. He now has a 5.01 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 52:21 K:BB in 50.1 innings this season. Duffy's next start is expected to be Wednesday versus the Cardinals.

Duffy will start Friday's game against the Brewers, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran southpaw was scratched from Tuesday's start for disciplinary reasons after missing the team's flight, but he'll be reinserted into the rotation for the series opener in Milwaukee. Duffy has a 4.24 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 47:19 K:BB through 46.2 innings this season.

Royals manager Mike Matheny said Wednesday that he hasn't decided when Duffy will make his next start for the club, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy had been scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Tigers, but that plan was scrapped after the southpaw missed the team flight to Detroit. The Royals acknowledged that they are aware of the reason behind why Duffy missed the flight and are continuing to investigate the matter, but for now, his status is up in the air due to what the club is terming as a disciplinary measure. Brady Singer is scheduled to start the series finale in Detroit on Wednesday and Matheny named Kris Bubic as the starter for the Royals' subsequent game Friday in Milwaukee, but the skipper hasn't set the rotation beyond that.

Duffy (3-3) earned the win Wednesday at Cleveland after giving up four hits with four strikeouts and four walks over 5.2 scoreless innings.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander's command issues persisted as he issued four-plus walks for the second straight start, but he battled to keep the Indians off the board. Duffy has a 4.24 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 47:19 K:BB through 46.2 innings and lines up to face the Tigers next week.

Duffy (2-3) was charged with the loss against the White Sox on Thursday after surrendering six runs on seven hits and five walks while striking out three across six innings.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy found himself in some trouble during the second inning, starting with a leadoff home run to Edwin Encarnacion. He then worked his way into a bases-loaded jam, walking in a run and allowing another to score on a wild pitch. A two-run double by Jose Abreu then gave the White Sox a 5-1 lead that would last the rest of the way. Duffy's final damage of the night was a solo home run off the bat of Tim Anderson in the fourth. No doubt the 31-year-old struggled with his command in this one, issuing a season-high five walks. The southpaw will look to improve upon a 4.83 ERA and 1.20 WHIP on Wednesday at Cleveland.

Duffy didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 6-5 loss to the White Sox, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran southpaw threw 92 pitches (61 strikes) and didn't seem to be bothered by the forearm tightness that caused him to be bumped from his start earlier in the week. Duffy did serve up two homers -- only the second time in seven starts he's been taken deep multiple times -- but the White Sox offense has done that to a lot of pitchers this season. Duffy will carry a 4.11 ERA and 40:10 K:BB through 35 innings into his next outing, scheduled for Wednesday at home against Cleveland.

Duffy (forearm) will start Friday against the White Sox, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Mike Matheny said Duffy looked good in his side session Tuesday and the team believes a couple days of extra rest will benefit him. He was originally pushed back from his scheduled start Wednesday due to forearm tightness. Duffy has logged five-plus innings in four of his six starts this season.

Royals manager Mike Matheny said Duffy will likely miss his next turn through the rotation Wednesday against the Cardinals after experiencing forearm tightness in his most recent start, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy earned the win last Friday against the Twins while striking out six over five innings of one-run ball, but Matheny pulled the lefty after noticing that his velocity dipped in his final frame, according to Flanagan. Matheny is seemingly hopeful that Duffy will avoid the injured list, as the skipper isn't ruling him out from being ready to go for Friday's series opener against the White Sox. Assuming Duffy can't go Wednesday, look for the Royals to bring back Jakob Junis (back) from the IL and deploy him as either a starter or primary pitcher out of the bullpen.

Duffy (2-2) picked up the win Friday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over five innings in a 7-2 victory over the Twins. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
None of the hits off the southpaw went for extra bases as he quieted Minnesota's dangerous bats, and the only run against him scored on a groundout to third base when Kansas City already had a four-run lead and no incentive to try and get the runner at the plate. Duffy has looked sharp in three of his last four outings, posting a 3.15 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 24:8 K:BB through 20 innings over that stretch, and he'll try to keep rolling in his next start Wednesday in St. Louis.
