Duffy (4-3) allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out eight over six innings in a loss to the Tigers on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Royals were hoping Duffy's arm could help them end a nine-game losing streak coming into Wednesday's game, but he received little help from the offense after the bats mustered up just two runs on three hits. He was given an early two-run cushion in the first inning but that was erased quickly after he allowed a run in the second and third. The 32-year-old later surrendered two extra-base hits and a single in the fifth, which amounted to another two runs and put the Royals behind for good. Duffy did tie his season high with eight strikeouts, but he has given up seven runs over his last 11.2 innings after only allowing two earned in his first 30. He still owns a 1.94 ERA, which is good for sixth-best in major league baseball, but the window to sell high on the left-hander is quickly closing after a pair of rocky starts have led to consecutive losses. He'll look to turn things around early next week in a meeting against the Brewers.

Duffy (4-2) allowed three earned runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out six across 5.2 innings to take the loss to Cleveland on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Thursday marks Duffy's first outing where he surrendered multiple runs. Even with the mediocre appearance, he still has a 1.26 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 35.2 innings. His velocity is up to 93.8 mph, his highest since 2016. The 32-year-old is scheduled to start Wednesday in Detroit.

Duffy (4-1) beat Minnesota 11-3 on Saturday, going seven innings and allowing two hits, three walks and one run with seven strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy dominated a strong Twins offense that has slumped through the first month, the only damage coming on an Alex Kirilloff solo shot in the seventh. The Kansas City veteran has allowed one or zero runs in all five outings and owns a sparkling 0.60 ERA.

Duffy (3-1) allowed four hits and no walks while striking out eight in five scoreless innings to earn the win against the Tigers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy was charged with his first loss of the year in his last start, but he returned to the win column against Detroit on Sunday. The left-hander only lasted five innings Sunday after he went six innings in each of his first three outings of the season, but he still matched his highest strikeout total of the year in the win. Duffy has posted a 0.39 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 27:6 K:BB in 23 innings through his first four starts this year. He'll attempt to remain effective on the road against Minnesota on Saturday.

Duffy (2-1) took a hard-luck loss in Monday's 4-1 defeat against the Rays after giving up two unearned runs on four hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out eight.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran lefty got hurt by a two-out error by Carlos Santana in the fifth inning but otherwise neutralized the Tampa Bay offense over 96 pitches (56 strikes). Duffy has come flying out of the gate in 2021 with three straight quality starts, and he'll take a 0.50 ERA and 19:6 K:BB through 18 innings into his next outing Sunday on the road in Detroit.

Duffy (2-0) earned the win against the Angels on Tuesday, tossing six innings and allowing one run on eight hits and one walk while striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy wasn't quite as impressive as in his first start of the campaign, when he yielded only two hits over six frames, but he maneuvered around a steady stream of baserunners Tuesday to escape with another victory. The southpaw hung around for six innings and 100 pitches to pick up his second straight quality start. The only run against him came on a fifth-inning home run off the bat of Shohei Ohtani. Duffy has yielded only a single run across 12 innings so far this season. He'll look to continue his strong start Sunday at home against Toronto.

Duffy (1-0) picked up the win Monday against Cleveland after surrendering two hits and three walks while striking out five over six scoreless innings.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy turned in a quality start in his 2021 debut, and the Kansas City bullpen sealed the deal with three scoreless frames to secure the shutout. The lefty fired 58 of 97 pitches for strikes and retired 10 batters on flyouts compared to just two on groundouts. It was a positive sign to see Duffy on top of his game in his first regular-season outing after taking a comebacker in the leg during his last spring start. He'll search for his second win of the year in his next scheduled start Monday against the Angels.

Duffy (leg) is slated to start Monday's game at Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy exited his final start of spring training March 25 after being hit in the upper leg by a comebacker, but he looks like he'll be ready to take the hill for the Royals' fourth game of the regular season. While the lefty struck out more than a batter per inning last season for the first time since 2016, he supported a 9.1 K/9 with a poor 4.95 ERA (4.75 FIP) and 1.33 WHIP.

Duffy left Thursday's spring start against the Diamondbacks in the top of the fifth inning with an apparent injury, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy's upper leg appeared to get hit by a comebacker with one out in the fifth inning, and he exited the game with a trainer following the incident. Prior to his departure, Duffy allowed one run on four hits and no walks while striking out three in 4.1 innings. It's not yet clear whether Duffy's injury will impact his availability to begin the regular season.

Duffy (4-4) earned the win Wednesday against the Cardinals after tossing 5.2 innings of one-run ball. He gave up six hits and one walk while fanning five.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy delivered a strong outing in his final start of the season, and he managed to bounce back after a previous outing in which he allowed six runs and seven hits across 3.2 innings at Milwaukee on Sep. 18. It was an up-and-down year for Duffy, who allowed four or more runs in four different starts but also gave up one or fewer runs five times.
