Duffy was placed on the 10-day disabled list Saturday with left elbow impingement, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear when the injury cropped up on Duffy, as the 28-year-old allowed just one hit over six innings during his most recent start. While an exact timetable for his return has yet to be established, he's eligible to return Sept. 5, so he's set to miss at least two starts while on the shelf. Eric Skoglund will take his place in the rotation Sunday, while Onelki Garcia had his contract selected in a corresponding roster move.

Duffy (8-8) picked up the win against the Rockies on Tuesday, giving up two runs on one hits and three walks over six innings while striking out seven.
EDGE Analysis
He took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, but after Nolan Arenado launched a two-run homer with two outs to end any chance at a history-making performance, Duffy turned things over to the bullpen. The left-hander seems to have found his strikeout stuff again, fanning at least six batters in five straight starts, but his 4.50 ERA and 1.20 WHIP over that stretch despite an 11.1 K/9 are a disappointment. He'll next take the mound Sunday in Cleveland.

Duffy gave up four runs on six hits and two walks over five innings while striking out eight Wednesday, but didn't factor into the decision in a 7-6 win over the A's.
EDGE Analysis
August has been a rough month so far for the lefty as Duffy's now been tagged for 16 runs in 17 innings over three starts, but he's salvaged some fantasy value with a 24:4 K:BB over that stretch. With his strikeout rate showing signs of rebounding to its 2016 level, he may be able to chip away at his 3.82 ERA on the season, beginning with his next start Tuesday at home against the Rockies.

Duffy (7-7) allowed seven runs (three earned) on seven hits with two walks and eight strikeouts over 5.2 innings in Sunday's loss to the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
All of the damage against Duffy came in the first two innings, with three homers and a strikeout wild pitch contributing to his undoing. While the southpaw did well to settle down and give his team a chance to win, he ultimately failed to escape the loss as Seattle prevailed 8-7. The second game of his team's doubleheader won't affect Duffy's rest, so he'll make his normally scheduled start Friday against the White Sox.

Duffy was confirmed as the Game 1 starter for tomorrow's doubleheader vs. Seattle, Pete Grathoff of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy was scheduled to start Saturday's rainout, so as expected, he'll get the ball for one of Sunday's contests. Jake Junis is in line to be called up as the 26th man to start the later affair.

Duffy will not make his scheduled start Saturday against the Mariners, as the game has been postponed due to rain.
EDGE Analysis
The game will be made up Sunday as part of a traditional doubleheader, and Duffy will almost certainly start one of those games. However, the Royals have not yet announced whether Duffy will start the matinee or the nightcap.

After a month-long DL stint (oblique), Duffy went 3-2 with a 3.20 ERA and 31:4 K:BB over six starts and 39.1 innings in July.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old southpaw effectively quelled any doubts about his health with a strong month. Duffy pitched six-plus innings, logging three quality starts, in four of his post-injury contests. His command was superb in July, managing a 0.9 BB/9 -- the best such mark of any month in Duffy's seven MLB seasons -- although his 7.1 K/9 leaves ample room for improvement. With health on his side, and a clubhouse that's surging, Duffy is set up nicely for a strong stretch run.

Duffy threw seven innings of one-run ball in a no-decision Monday against the Orioles, striking out seven while allowing seven hits and one walk.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy was sharp in this one, inducing weak contact with regularity and allowing just four men past first base. He would've pitched well enough to win on most nights, but a equally strong effort from Ubaldo Jimenez on the other side saw the game tied until a walkoff single from Craig Gentry. This quality start extended a strong run of form for Duffy, who has a 2.66 ERA and an 18:2 K:BB over 26.2 innings in his last four starts. He will look to keep it going Saturday against the Mariners.

Duffy (7-6) allowed only one run on six hits and a walk over 6.1 innings in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Tigers. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander's been alternating good starts with mediocre ones since he came off the DL at the beginning of July, leaving him with a 3.62 ERA for the month, but his 1.05 WHIP and 25:3 K:BB in 32.1 innings suggest he's been a little unlucky. Duffy will try to break that pattern in his next start Monday on the road against the Orioles.

Duffy (6-6) allowed four runs on nine hits while striking out four batters through five innings during Thursday's win over Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty was spotted an eight-run lead before allowing a run to the Tigers, so he was in cruise control early. It obviously wasn't Duffy's sharpest outing, but the win was never in legitimate jeopardy Thursday. He sports a 3.71 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 7.1 K/9 for the year, and his 3.49 FIP suggests there could even be slightly better results ahead. He lines up to face the Tigers again in his next start, but this time the game will be at Comerica Park.
