Duffy tossed six scoreless innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Blue Jays, striking out eight while allowing two hits and three walks.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy was electric in this one, inducing 16 swinging strikes as he notched a new season high in punchouts. He also completed six innings for the first time and worked up to 100 pitches (64 strikes), but his bullpen blew a three-run lead to dash his hopes of earning his first win of the year. Duffy has seemingly progressed from start to start this season and has lowered his ERA to a respectable 3.86 heading into Sunday's scheduled start against the Tigers.

Duffy allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks across 5.1 innings in a no-decision Wednesday against the Mariners. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
It looked like it was going to be a rough outing for Duffy after he walked three batters and uncorked a wild pitch in the first inning, but the 29-year-old was able to settle in and retire 13 of the next 16 batters he faced -- blanking the Mariners over his final 4.1 frames -- before exiting the game in the sixth inning. He still hasn't finished the sixth inning this season, but the southpaw is certainly trending in the right direction. He'll look to keep improving in his next start, which is scheduled for Monday against the Blue Jays in what should be a two-start week for Duffy (along with 4/21 @ DET).

Duffy (0-2) took the loss against Cleveland on Friday, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks over 5.2 innings while striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
All three runs crossed the plate in the first inning, but Duffy settled down after that while getting an assist from the chilly conditions at Progressive Field. The left-hander threw 54 of 99 pitches for strikes and has a 7.45 ERA through his first two starts, but Duffy's 8:5 K:BB in 9.2 innings is a little more encouraging. He'll next take the mound Wednesday at home against the Mariners.

Duffy is expected to take the mound against the Indians on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy's scheduled start against the Tigers on Wednesday was postponed due to inclement weather, but he's listed as the probable starter for the series opener in Cleveland, which will push both Ian Kennedy and Jason Hammel back a day.

Duffy will not take the mound Wednesday against the Tigers as the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy will likely take the mound during one of the team's contests in Cleveland this weekend, along with Ian Kennedy and Jason Hammel in the three-game set. During his Opening Day start against the White Sox, Duffy allowed five earned runs and two walks over four innings, while adding in five strikeouts. Wednesday's scheduled game versus Detroit will be made up April 20 as part of a doubleheader.

Duffy (0-1) surrendered five earned runs and two walks over 4.0 innings in Thursday's loss to the White Sox. He added five strikeouts over the course of his 78 pitches.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty cruised through the White Sox order the first time, but he didn't survive the second time through. Duffy's outing came apart in the fourth when he gave up a leadoff double to Avisail Garcia before surrendering back-to-back home runs to Jose Abreau and Matt Davidson. He would ultimately give up another home run and another double before finally escaping the fourth inning. It's still too early to be concerned about Duffy, but this was a less-than-ideal start for the lefty after his rocky spring. He's lined up to make his next start Wednesday against Jordan Zimmerman and the Tigers.

Duffy (shoulder) threw some long toss Sunday and is expected to make his Opening Day start against the White Sox on Thursday, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy exited Saturday's spring game with shoulder tightness but indicated afterwards it was a minor issue. Nonetheless, the 29-year-old playing long toss Sunday with no issues strengthens his status as he begins his prep work as the Royals' Opening Day starter.

Duffy (shoulder) said he expects to make his Opening Day start against the White Sox on Thursday, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy exited Saturday's spring game with shoulder tightness, but the southpaw downplayed the severity of the issue afterwards. When asked if his Opening Day start was in jeopardy, Duffy said, "I know that it isn't," adding that while he still has to talk with manager Ned Yost, he doesn't think it will take much convincing to allow him to take the ball Thursday. That said, the Royals will obviously play it safe with their ace, so expect an update on his status once the team provides more clarity on the situation in the coming days.

Duffy exited Saturday's spring game with left shoulder tightness, Rustin Dodd of The Athletic Kansas City reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Royals are calling his removal precautionary, but this is certainly worrisome given how close it is to Opening Day. Duffy's status for the season-opener remains up in the air at the moment, but things should clear up in the coming days once he's further evaluated. If the southpaw is unable to take the mound Thursday against the White Sox, Ian Kennedy would likely take his place.

Duffy left Saturday's game in the third inning with an apparent injury, Maria Torres of The Kansas City Star reports
EDGE Analysis
Plans for Duffy starting Opening Day are now on hold until the team determines the extent of the issue. The lefty threw 32 pitches before exiting with a trainer. Ian Kennedy would presumably get the nod Thursday against the White Sox if Duffy isn't cleared.
