Wright is a candidate to fill-in for Jesse Chavez -- who pitched in relief Friday -- this Sunday against the Blue Jays, J.P Hoornstra of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old is scheduled to start for Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday, so his schedule would line up perfectly with the Angels' plans if they deem Chavez unable to make his start. Wright made one long-relief appearance with the Angels earlier this season, but he didn't fare well, giving up three runs over four innings. He shouldn't garner much fantasy attention even if he does earn the start Sunday.

Wright was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander will head back down after a brief cameo with the Angels. He handled the final 4.0 innings of Thursday's loss to the Rangers after starter Ricky Nolasco allowed five earned runs over 5.0 innings. Wright was touched up for three earned runs in his outing Thursday and did not record a strikeout. According to Shaikin, the Angels will make the corresponding roster move for Wright on Friday.

Wright was called up to the majors Wednesday, the Los Angeles Times' Pedro Moura reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright allowed three earned runs in five innings of work during spring training before being sent down on March 15. He gets another opportunity with the Angels now because Andrew Bailey (shoulder) is headed to the disabled list. In 2016, the 26-year-old started seven games and posted a 6.13 ERA over 39.2 innings at the major-league level. With a slew of injuries to the Angels' starting rotation, the right-hander may be a candidate for a spot start Saturday against the Royals.

Wright was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old used his success in Double-A to eventually wind up in the big leagues last season, but his middling spring performance wasn't enough to land him a spot on the Angels' 25-man roster. Wright will likely spend much of 2017 at Salt Lake, but he could return to Anaheim later in the season if he shows his promotion last season was no fluke.

Wright (1-3) allowed just one run on six hits, struck out five and didn't walk a batter over six innings to win his first career MLB game Friday against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
He threw a quality start in his last outing, but no run support led to a loss. This time, the Angels spotted him seven runs, and Wright induced eight groundball outs and 12 swing-and-misses, leading to five strikeouts. Wright made nine appearances, including seven starts with Los Angeles and Cincinnati this season. He went 1-5 with a 6.13 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 21 strikeouts in 39.2 innings.

Wright allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks across six innings Sunday versus the Astros. He struck out four as he suffered his third loss of the season.
EDGE Analysis
Despite allowing baserunners with regularity, Wright never yielded multiple runs in any one inning. He allowed three men to reach which led to a run in the first, but was only scored upon via a pair of solo homers over the next five frames. It was the first quality start of the season for the rookie, and he will have the opportunity to build off of the performance Saturday at home to this same Astros club.

Wright (0-2) tossed 4.2 innings, allowing four runs on nine hits and struck out one in Tuesday's loss against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Through three starts as an Angel, Wright has posted a 6.75 ERA while failing to pitch past the fifth frame in all of the outings. The rookie remains without a major league win, and has failed to even resemble a MLB pitcher in any of his appearances, including four games with the Reds earlier in the season. Wright, a 6-for-2 right-hander, is only in the rotation because of an injury-decimated staff in Los Angeles. With that said, he's slated to take the hill for another start on Sunday in Houston.

Wright (0-3) made his second start as an Angel on Thursday, giving up three runs on four hits and three walks over five innings in a loss against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
That's now seven runs and a 5:4 K:BB in two starts since Wright moved into the Angels' rotation, so the 25-year-old righty has essentially zero fantasy appeal right now. He owns ERAs north of 6.00 in both the minors and majors this year,

Wright will start Saturday's game against the Rangers, the Orange County Register's Jeff Fletcher reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Angels are really digging deep to assemble a five-man rotation at this point in the season, as injuries have completely decimated what was already a mediocre rotation to begin the season. Wright was designated for assignment by the Reds earlier this month, which speaks to his lack of talent. He posted a 6.13 ERA with a 65:25 K:BB in 83.2 innings at Triple-A and 7.62 ERA with just six strikeouts in 13 big league innings this season.

Wright was claimed off waivers by the Angels on Sunday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
After being designated for assignment by the Angels earlier Sunday, Wright didn't need much time to find a new organization. The Angels are short on capable relievers with Huston Street (knee) and Cam Bedrosian (blood clot in arm) out for the season, so Wright could see some meaningful innings out of the bullpen in September. It's also possible the Angels give him an audition in the rotation at some point, given that Wright mostly worked as a starter during his time in the minor leagues.
